Get on the electoral register so you can vote in elections and referendums.

Whatever your plans are for Election Day:

Do not try to subvert someone else’s right to vote. Do not steal their ID (seriously, I know), don’t deliberately send them to the wrong polling station

Do not intimidate or attack someone because their choice does not agree with yours

Do get out and vote and support others to do the same

This election has shown just how disgustingly divided the country is with both Labour and Tory supporters behaving appallingly - Tory eg. Last minute changing of hours by a boss (not mine, they’re lovely) so staff would struggle to get to polling station; Labour eg. campaigner who tried to force his way into my friend’s house then stood outside shouting ‘racist’ and ‘facist’ because she said she didn’t know who she was voting for.

Everyone has the right to vote and however much you disagree with people’s views, that must be respected, otherwise it gets a bit dictator-y up in here
