Wood Island Light, Saco Bay, Biddeford, Maine. Located just outside the entrance to Biddeford Pool, Wood Island Lighthouse can be seen from Maine Audubon's East Point Sanctuary. Maine Audubon was also deeded 28 acres of Wood Island in 1970. This area is one of the best birdwatching spots in the state. Over 250 different bird species have been identified at the sanctuary, including many American common eider ducks, a subspecies of the common eider and a permanent resident of Biddeford Pool.
