on march 15, the largest protest in serbia’s history took place in the capital, with some estimates ranging between 800,000 and 1,000,000 people on the streets. however, there were incidents of organized attacks on demonstrators—people were trampled, hit with stones and firecrackers, and tear gas was deployed. the most extreme action by the police was the use of a sound cannon (LRAD), banned by law in serbia, which then triggered a stampede. dozens of people were injured.

3rd day in a row where vucic and his sns mafia are trying to provoke a civil war by having paid hooligans, criminals, and the police attack citizens on the streets with pyrotechnics (theyre trowing fireworks at civilians), rubber bullets (used tonight by the police in blegrade) and "good old" regular beatings of civilians by both the criminal hooligans (brought in by vucic's brother, the criminal capo) and the criminal police. i have friends and family on the streets but instagram and twitter profiles of N1 news Serbia, Studenti U Blokadi and like. many others have live videos of the hell going on now. The regime is fascist, and murderous, and people are still fighting it with all they have after 15 years of terror and 9 months of student protests and blockades. Just. I don't know. Students in Serbia have been officially nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize.

This is absolutely monumental and should be seen as a lesson to students around the world - your voices are not useless when you come together as one.

tensions rising over here in Sebia. The president thinks people are gonna storm the capital and is basically barricading the city with tracktors and military vehicles that'll block the roads to Belgrade. Who's he scared of? Students. Collage/university/high school students, joined by farmers, lawyers, teachers, old and young people alike. Who, by the way, have been absolutely golden and didn't hurt a fly during these peaceful protests (which have been going on since November of last year, although oscillating in size)
