Indrapuri has a sizable student population due to its proximity to DAVV University and other colleges and also offers hangout places like Pleasure House, Bake and Shake. Every corner of Indore has some food joint serving yummy dishes and there are new joints opening every other month offering students new bonding and hanging out places. We at Placio have made a list of places which offer hearty meals, ambience and chilling points for students.
Sarafa offers 56 shops (chappan dukaan) a unique stretch of 56 shops famous for yummy mouth watering food. This area is extremely popular hangout joint and students come to Rajwada/Sarafa during weekends and exam time as it is open from 9 pm till 12 pm. A visit to Sarafa is not complete without having a wide-range of snacks like pav-bhaaji, dosa, Chinese, Young Tarang’s poha-jalebi, Nagori ki shikanji, Anna ka paan and sweets which include the best jalebis, gulaab jamuns, kulfis and Rabdiguru’s Rabdi, malpua etc and the good old Indian expresso coffee is a must try here.
Joshiji ka dahiwada (started in 1977): Going to Joshiji ka dahiwada is an experience in itself. Along with extraordinary yummy taste get to experience watching the founder Ram Chandra Joshi’s son Om Prakash Joshi make the dahiwadas is amazing. Joshiji is a performer. He flips the dahiwada with the curd without spilling a drop. He sprinkles five spices using just one finger without allowing them to mix together. This is a must reach place before 11pm, otherwise dahiwadas are all sold out. The number of people exceed the number of wadas.
Saawariya ki sabudana khichdi and bhutte ka khees: Yummy and unique, the sabudana khichdi started in 1983 by Om Prakash Vyas’s father has improved in time. Their bhutte ka khees is a must have as this unique Indori concoction is made of boiled corn dana, fried in ghee and then mixed with besan, hing, jeera, dhaniya and unique masala.
Vijay ki kachori: Vijay ki kachori and chaat are very delicious but get over by 10pm.
Hotel Shreemaya offers a pleasing ambience as it is decorated with green plants. It is perfect for college hangouts. The fast food chain restaurant serves the best sizzlers, shakes and Pav Bhaji. Its Bakery products are also recommended.
T he Sheesha Sky Lounge is a rooftop restaurant located in Vijay Nagar. The restaurant gives a panoramic view of the beautiful city. It is the best place to relax and have some drinks. The place also gives a wide range in different kind of mock tails. The Veg Malai Kebabs are must taste.
Café Palette stands out for its décor which lends plenty of character to the establishment. Splashes of colour brighten the interiors, lending credence to its name. It’s located on the first floor of a three-storey building. The ground floor houses an ice cream parlour, artisan bakery, and an exhibition hall for artists while the rooftop hosts al fresco parties.The seating in Café Palette is separated into sections so you have quite a bit of privacy to tuck into tasty fare and have a conversation.
Nafees The Family Restaurant
The Nafees Family Restaurant offers a clean and healthy environment making it perfect for dining with family. The glass inside the restaurant & at the entrance has intricate floral design. The furniture & the interiors look traditional. A bit crowded but overall, a good menu with a variety of dishes from all over the country. It serves yummy non-vegetarian food like dry chicken, mutton, chicken chilli are must have.
One of the most popular joints, O2 Café de la Ville located in New Palasia, Indore. This place is a modern library and cafe so that you can enjoy a read while sipping on your favourite beverage. It is opened in the odd hours of the night as well so offers a great place to chill with friends and enjoy live performances. The stylish décor lends an upscale look to the place which is furthered by its ordering system – on iPad Minis. The café even has valet parking!
Cafe Terraza is known for friendly ambience, delicious food and mesmerizing view of the city. It’s the perfect place for a date or an evening with friends. As dusk falls, the café is illuminated with pretty fairy lights. Sip the best coffee, tea, and beverages from their elaborated menu of food items. The authentic pasta and chilli garlic bread is a must have here. Like many upscale cafes, prices are on the higher end but it is worth your buck.

The interior of the Cafe is done through the recycled materials. The artist can showcase their talent in the form of painting, music, and photography. This Restaurant cum Pub is known for its ambience and offers live sports facility and music performances. The Karaoke nights (only on Thursday) are people’s favourite. The Retro styled restaurant is a perfect place to taste Shakshik Rice and Kung Pao Vegetable.
Mediterra under the Sayaji is one of its own kind. The place leaves visitors awestruck with its unique and antique roof to interior designs. The chef makes all possible effort to retain the originality of international cuisines like Tiramisu.

Chopstick City is the best place to eat Chinese Food and it maintains the originality of the food. The superb ambience and good food make this place popular among students. The must try dishes of this place are Konjee crispy chicken, baby corn bamboo and chicken with celery.
