Double Barrelled Percusion Lock Pistol from Mexico dated the Early 19th Century on display at the Regional Museum of Querétaro in Querétaro, Mexico

Percussion lock firearms were not common in the early 19th century and many were bought privately by officers. This one would have been an expensive purchase as it is double barrelled and would have been effective in close quarter fighting. During the Mexican War of Independence, many soldiers, especially amongst the aristocracy, provided their own firearms.
