What is my Go-To Foundation Routine for Fall/Winter 2015?
Working for MAC Cosmetics and being a working makeup artist my kit is always overflowing with new products to try out.
Although this may be the case, I have my favourites and rarely do I find myself experimenting outside of the box of what usually works for me.
Lately I have built quite the large repertoire of products that are overflowing in my own personal makeup bag and I have been loving them!
Here are a few of my faves that give me that flawless skin finish for the fall and winter season:
MAC Cosmetics Strobe Cream: A cult classic that give that luminous glow that everybody has been loving lately. I personally like to apply it before my foundation but you can also mix it in or even apply it on top for that extra intense luminosity.
MAC Cosmetics Studio Fix Fluid Foundation: Another classic! If you would have asked me a few months ago I would have told you that I would never touch this foundation with a ten foot pole! I have very dry skin and this is a very matte foundation. Someone then suggested to me that I try mixing it with MAC’s Strobe Cream and I have now found my new favourite foundation. It gives me great coverage and a flawless finish when I apply it with my Beauty Blender sponge.
Maybelline Fit Me Concealer: I absolutely love this concealer! It has a beautiful finish and does not emphasize the fine lines under my eyes. The coverage is a little bit lighter than I’m used to but I don’t mind that because I don’t have much darkness under my eyes. It is also great for highlighting the highest points of the face. Great in combination with the Strobe Cream mentioned above.
NARS Casino Bronzer: This is the darker sibling to the most popular NARS Laguna that everybody raves about. It has an amazing neutral tone that is not too warm and not too cool. The finish is also very natural because it has a little bit of a glow and is not completely matte. Although it comes at quite the hefty price, I believe it is worth it because I have not personally found a bronzer like it in all the years that I have been in the field!
MAC Extra Dimension Skinfinish in Oh Darling!: This one is almost unfair because it is limited edition and i’m pretty sure sold out almost everywhere. I am mentioning it because there are many dupes out there and with a little research online i’m sure you can find yourself something very similar. I don’t know how I lived without this before and I am very upset that I did not buy two! *sigh* Please let me know if you have found any great dupes!
