Studio Imagine with Calum
"First off you can say no, and I know you're kind of busy and such but if you're interested in getting a casual cup of coffee sometime I'd like that. Or I could like bring the coffee to you. Or tea? Do you like tea?" Sweeping the hair that’s covered your eyes behind your ear.
"A casual cup of coffee, how do you make coffee casual?" He asks as he rests his arms on the counter in front of you.
"I...I'm not really sure what I meant by that. Just something simple, not a big deal. Just two friends getting to chat over a cup of coffee."
"Are we friends?" He cocks his eyebrow and the look of superiority is only fleeting across his face as it falls and his eyes seem to really be searching for an honest answer.
"Well I mean...maybe? I figured we're pretty nice to each other and I would wave to you on the street if I saw you in passing."
"Hmm. I'll have to think about that one." He saunters in to the recording booth for two hours but before he has the chance to leave you an answer you’ve gone home for the day, head hanging with disappointment.
When you arrive to open the studio the next day at 6 am you see a small business card perched between the keys on your computer.
"A casual cup of coffee sounds like something I might be interested in. See you Thursday at 7, Alfred's in the alley on melrose."
A small smile creeps up your face and nearly scream as the studio head roughly pushes through the door and flicks on the lights you were too distracted to notice.
