See those snapshots on the right there? Ever wondered how to get Maya to do that? Kurt Rathjen made a python script for that! 

It’s called Studio Library, it works for the latest version of Maya and it’s totally free. Find it here: http://www.studiolibrary.com/

It’s super useful for any animator. It saves poses, animations, selection sets and it even has a mirror option! And best of all, it’s got a really clean and easy to understand UI (if you can’t tell, I’m super excited).

I just animated a character shot WITHOUT ever selecting anything in the viewport, using some txt list, fishing through a tangle of curve controllers, toggling the visibility of a face full of bees or deciphering some awful character picker. Just studio library. Just middle drag on the picture I want. on to the next frame. Holy smokes this is a fun way to animate.
