Epic times and achievements happened under this Studio 40 roof and it has come to an end of an era after 6 years & 4 months.
Never lost, just broken, I pushed forward in 2016/17 and saw new studio friends made, an exhibition per season ending with the man Elliot Francis Stewart and the relaunch of Aotearoa Urban Arts Trust.
The most epic achievement though of last year, was fighting the good fight with Andy Murnane and SWIDT, pushing through some tough times and choosing to not abandon the team. It was all worth it and the studio was a huge part of seeing 'Stoneyhunga' the album, through to the end. We were rewarded 2x Tuis and made an album that is now one for the NZ Hip-Hop history books.
In less than a month, fast moving times had the building sold, rent hiked up effective 1 May 2018 and a hard decision weighing on my upper shoulder blades with a new 2 year lease on the table. With the smallest window of opportunity and a clean out, the pros & cons table weighed in favor to go. We were packed up and out in 4 days. The smoothest, most stress-free move ever.
With all things settled as best as I possibly could, it's time for Livi time and Livi time is AUAT. Family and friends sigh with relief, "Finally woman!" *Brendan Kitto rolls eyes.*
I'm back home in Mangere East with the folks to reset. Only time will tell, how long for? So Mangere!, you got your girl back!

@studio40 staple Noreen & her awesome business EyeFilms Productions hosted history here in our Onehunga studio this week. Papua New Guinea’s first ever sign language dictionary, farkin ahmazing.
