TELEGRAPH PROJECT
I have enjoyed creating this project, and like that we had more freedom and could choose from a variety of layouts. I chose fashion for this project as it is what I aspire to become after Uni. At first I was slightly confused and found it hard to stick to the Telegraph Magazine style. As my first theme was Tarten, the reason I decided to change my theme was because although the Telegraph magazine had a urban theme in one of their issues, the majority of the issues didn't have this theme.
I decided to change my theme completely to suit the magazine more. So I came up with this smart wear/evening theme, and I started looking for clothes to use for the shoot. After looking at a lot of styling ideas I came to a decision to buy a jumpsuit, trousers and a blouse from Missguided. I did want another outfit but couldn't afford the outfit, but then thought that 2 changes would work better.
Location was a hard one for me as at first I was confused whether or not we could set up a studio. After asking John it was fine to use backdrops, it just couldn't be shot in a studio. The location was great it was in a garage and we had space for lights and backdrops.
Model I found it hard to find the right sort of model I pictured for this shoot. After contacting a lot of models with a variety of different looks, I came to a decision to use a model names Sophie James she is currently a model for JD Sports. Her look was perfect for this shoot.
Makeup Artist was Charlie Roberts and I have worked with her a few times now and really trust that she can create the makeup how I want. I started researching makeup and decided a silver metallic theme would work well with one of the styling, and as usual Charlie delivered great work. For the second change I decided subtle makeup but with red lips would really make the white jumpsuit stand out.
Hair stylist Dexter Johnson who has previously worked for X Factor and London Fashion Week done a fantastic job with hair. I did want another hairstyle, but I did say before that I am not sure if we have time for another hair change and warned him before. Throughout the shoot Dexter made sure the hair was perfect between shots.
Throughout the shoot everything went well, but there were some hiccups. One main problem that I have learnt from is to make sure next time the backdrop has as little creases as possible. As this was a nightmare to retouch afterward.
My time schedule was very tight as my model had to get back to Kent at 2pm so I created a time schedule for each part of the shoot. We did start a little late but we pulled it back and although I would of loved more time I got the shots I was after. If I did have more time I would of focused a lot more of the 4 small boxes as I found they was the hardest.
Lighting worked really well especially as we had the mixed lighting from the strip lights that were already in garage. Although with more time I would of made sure that every part of the model had perfect lighting, as I found it hard in one of the shots afterward whilst retouching.
Overall I am really happy with the final layout and also was very happy with the front page and how I managed to plan the shot and make sure all black and white text was seen.

Mixed Lighting
I need to incorporate mixed lighting in to my shoot tomorrow, the garage has a garage door and also has lights on ceiling. Now i do not want to get the lights in the shot visually, but i do want them to be seen on the model. Jade will also be shooting behind the scenes shots and video so this shows the full layout of mixed lighting.
Ready For Shoot
My clothing for shoot is all been delivered and i am really happy with the purchases. I have also recieved my backdrops one navy and one baby blue. All i need to do is pack up everything ready for tomorrows shoot, and i also need to finalise each shot as i have a very tight time limit as my model has to leave early. I had to limit my hairstyling to just one, but i have warned the stylist if we are running ahead of schedule that i may ask him to do another hair style. But overall i am happy with my progress and am looking forward for the shoot.
Softbox
I have booked a softbox out for my shoot as i found out the RX 600's only come with one softbox.
