I am slightly cheating today as I am sharing my daytime desk in the RSN studio rather than my at home messy desk but this is such an amazing shot I just had to share. Posted @withregram @royalneedlework #MarchMeetTheMaker is ‘What’s on my desk’? The real 'desks’ of the RSN are our trestles and frames on which sit needles, threads and, today, minute beads. The RSN Embroidery Studio is currently restoring the beading of a casket dated 1672! Embroiderer Marg Dier has done a huge amount of research into caskets of the period and is reworking the areas now missing such as a snail and a unicorn, with beads from our vintage bead collection. The RSN Embroidery Studio is based at Hampton Court Palace, south west London, where all of our commissioned work is carried out by expert Embroiderers. . . . #17thcenturyembroidery #stumpworkcasket #textilerestoration #embroideryrestoration #casket #historictextiles #historicaltextiles #beadedcasket #rsnembroiderystudio #studiocommission #antiquebeads #stumpworkembroidery #stumpwork #raisedembroidery #beadembroidery https://www.instagram.com/p/CMAkmkXHA4g/?utm_medium=tumblr
