So it's been a while...

*cough* 2 months *cough*

BUT! I had a summer of doing

nothing

and now I've just completed my first full-time work week in an Adult Job™️. So that's a significant thing for sure. This means that I am no longer a student, a title I've held for many years now (RIP student discount, you will be missed).

It's been a bit crazy trying to integrate into office life, especially as I still can't speak Dutch sufficiently for small talk (although I can understand almost everything). The work itself is comfortable and familiar, however it grapples with a topic I never thought I'd work with. Thankfully everyone I've met so far has been really friendly and supportive of my language learning. Hopefully I'll be able to make the most of the weekend before it all begins again!

So I finished my Master's?!?

Thesis finally uploaded today but it hasn't sunk in yet!

Summer is almost here, but I just have one more hard thing to do, perhaps one of the hardest things so far in my life (wish me luck).

Focus Groups are done! Interviews are almost done! Looking forward to coding instead of boring transcribing ✨

Whenever I have a day where I don't complete as much work as I had set out to, I just remind myself: progress is progress. It takes small steps to reach the goal.

Today is my final exam in education, ever 😱.

I think I'm prepared enough. Its been a hard two weeks meeting all my deadlines but I'm almost at the end of it.

Next week, I start my thesis period. No rest for the wicked!

Oops it's been another month. I'm not very good at this, am I?

Super super busy times but glad that the days are finally getting longer and brighter. Let's not think too much about how I'm approaching the end of my taught courses and then I'll be working all on my own for my thesis...

Exam week is over!

My last exam went okay-ish, which was a little disappointing but I'm not too worried about if I've passed. The focus now is travelling back home for Christmas and being reunited with my family 😊

~ 22nd January 2019 ~

Winter has finally arrived and so have my exam results!

First the water froze over and then snow appeared after our lecture. The perfect setting to hunker down and write my thesis proposal.

But best of all, I'm on a high from receiving my grades from December. I really am so proud of myself for what I've achieved and it's a real confidence boost!

Oops, it's the New Year. Perhaps it's just as well I didn't bother to make a New Year's Resolution about posting here more often 😅

Second week starts tomorrow, working on my thesis proposal and I can sure say its a lot of work and I'm not sure I'm a big fan of conducting research.
