macbook recs

so after having the same dell laptop since 2013 (which was made in 2011), my family decided to get me a new computer, as this one can only hold two tabs at a time (on a good day), and it doesn’t hold any of the software i need it to for my schooling or personal interests. 

i’ve never had a new laptop before, and i know next to nothing about them. so if you guys could recommend different models, that would help me a lot!
