Age-Wise Distribution of MACJ (F) Students [Bar Graph]
This visualisation shows the ages of all students pursuing MA in Convergent Journalism (Final) at Jamia Millia Islamia in the form of a Bar Graph. All information is attributed to the Anwar Jamal Kidwai Mass Communication Research Centre. The visualisation has been achieved using Google Fusion Tables, which used data imported from a Google Drive Spreadsheet filled in by the students themselves.
Since the purpose is to produce an easy-to-understand age distribution, i.e., a count of how many students are what age, the first problem that presents itself is the choice of the most suitable method of visualisation. To resolve this, A Bar Graph has been chosen as the most preferred method. Another problem that succeeds this is the problem of how to aggregate the data. Since we are working with Ages, we "Aggregate" the data by Age and keep the "Entity" as Age and "Value" as Count. This ensures that we do not have a bar graph showing age on a graph but the count of how many students are what age, highlighting the number or Count of students.
