As a writer, who is your biggest inspiration?
I would say Ray Bradbury. He’s one of my favorite authors, and the short stories I write are patterned after his own, very much so.
Does anyone in real life know about your rping hobby and what, if anything, have they said about it?
My younger brother knows, but he doesn’t really say anything. He just listens as I ramble about exciting threads and stuff xD
Have you considered writing professionally or do you have plans to?
I do indeed have plans to write professionally. Not as my main career, of course, but yes, I have high hopes of getting published.
How do you handle the toxicity sometimes found in the roleplaying community, particularly in fandoms?
I usually stay away from the big fusses, and really, I don’t interact very much at all with other DW rpers, as odd as that is.
How has writing improved your life and do you see yourself sticking with it?
I couldn’t imagine going through my life without writing in some form or fashion. My mind can get very cluttered and hectic, and writing acts as an outlet for me to organize myself. (i know that’s a really cliche response, but *shrug* it’s true)
How much time a day would you say is devoted to your writing?
Oh, goodness. On tumblr? I’d say 2 or 3 hours a day. Writing in other stories? Much more so (if you count just staring at the page and trying to make the words come, that is….)
What advice can you give to someone who has just begun rping on tumblr?
Be patient, and read people’s rules. That’s pretty much it.
What do you typically look for in a roleplay partner?
Someone who cares, really. Someone who I can tell puts effort into their writing, as well as emotion and insight to their character.
What is your favorite genre to write?
What one piece of literature has been most inspirational/life changing for you? Why?
I will forever and always answer this question with the poem ‘The Powerful Play Goes On’ by Walt Whitman. I have had that poem hanging up in my room since high school and it has gotten me through the toughest of times. I actually want to get a tattoo inspired by that poem someday. (the tattoo would just be the word ‘answer’ across my wrist)
