My brother is reading My Immortal out loud and I want to die
reading this blog inspires me to go back and look at my own high school diary/ LJ/ pix. I wish we could have been high school friends!
January 2005: You know what drives me nuts? Girls who try to be edgy and are much better being flirty and perky and all-American. Trying to be something you’re not is a bad idea. Leave the thrift store clothes to those of us who really can’t afford a forty dollar pair of jeans or a hundred dollar pair of shoes. Also, I think some Pumas, all Uggs (Ugg is for Ugly- they should stop giving things such apt names!), and those tacky mesh things should die a painful death.
Holy hell. I HATEE HATEEE HATEEEEEEE how the fucking carbon copy preps of my school are now even BIGGER posers. They used to make fun of people that dressed "emo" or what not. Now they're trying to be like them. Then they have the nerve to go around acting as if they rocked that shit before the rest of us. Mother fucker you're a joke. If I see one more prep with ugg boots and a hollister shirt walk into Hot Topic and try to buy a KoRn shirt I'm seriously going to beat the shit out of them. You really have no clue how angry it makes me
Tonight was the 8th grade art show... Let's just say, I had a lot of fun. I had FOUR works of art at the show. Hah! I hung out with Derek, Rae, and some 7th graders. Since our gallery was dull and lacking, we decided to stage a piece of performance art. We were in competition with the dancers, though, who were having their 8th grade dance recital next door. As they all entered the school on their way to the theater, we greeted them with a special little chant or ours: "Anti-DANCE. Anti-Dance," we hissed. We continued haunting the dancers, until they decided to take a detour. Not all the dancers escaped though-- some of the 7th graders chased after the girls with their homemade animal marionettes, while Derek yelled, "Sic 'em BOYS!" Then Emma and I started doing interpretive dances of our own in front of the theater. "Art show next door," we said, "We can dance too! AND WE HAVE FOOD!" Knowing that FREE FOOD wouldn't exactly entice the ballerinas, we gave up. But not before prancing down the dressing room corridor-- WITHOUT getting into trouble. It was glorious. I don't like most dancers anyway, and they don't like me. When we got back to the art show, we prepared our final interpretive dance act for the evening. Erica made a circle with her arms and spun around. "I am the SETTING SUN!" She cried, and then pointed at me. "You'll be the waves!" She instructed. I then sorta imitated Scott Weiland from the "Sour Girl" video, twisting my arms and hips like I was on drugs. Emma twirled in the background. When our dance was done, we got a small applause from the other artists, and I had to leave early for Girl Scouts.
8th Grade Mallgoth, 5/8/2003. I'm sorry to all the dancers/preps I have body-shamed in my diary.
