x. out ; emil makes richter hesitate, which he greatly dislikes. he doesn’t want emil to get involved – which speaks a great deal in as few words. there’s a phantom image in certain mannerisms that emil exhibits. that ghost is what makes him feel protective at times, but it’s an opportunity that’s already slipped through his fingers.
hate { or rather, rage } is applicable when richter realizes emil is essentially ratatosk. not only did he murder aster, his best friend, but to assume his person & make a mockery of that which he took – it overrides any amicable feelings he might have developed in the midst of working together.
