Like??? the way it references back to Splash Free, Future Fish, and Gold Evolution??? Fucking iconic. I hope whoever wrote the lyrics got a promotion for his genius.

Headcannons to style five if their boxer s/o nearly died in the ring (TW):

Makoto:

Man was stressed! Once he saw you go down and not come back up, he was jumping out of his seat.

Being a guy who's usually quiet he was yelling at the top of his lungs to the ref, to your coach to do something.

Once the medics rushed into the ring, he was right next to you, eyes scanning your still body.

Your poor face was bloodied and swollen, black and blue covered almost every inch as he felt sick to his stomach.

Refused to leave your side as you were rushed to the ER and made sure you had the best care.

Held your hand the whole time you were in the hospital.

When you finally woke up, he peppered your face in kisses.

You took a hiatus from boxing after the incident and Makoto was grateful for it.

Haru:

He remained quiet as he watched the match. His eyes never leaving your form as you kept getting knocked down your blood splattering the boxing ring mat.

Once he saw you go down and not get back up, he leapt up and ran to your side of the ring pushing your manager to the side and climbing in.

your opponet was freaking out as they kicked you in the side of the neck and you just went down. The medics hurried since it could be a spinal injury at that point.

He remained at your side while you were through physical therapy and surgery after surgery to correct the damange done.

Helped you do basic tasks while you recovered and made sure you were comfortable.

He knew you wanted to go back to the ring, but flashbacks to you laying unmoving in the ring flashed through his mind.

You both talked about it and you decided to take a little break from boxing to focus on yourself and Haru's relationship.

Haru made sure to hold you closer every night after that, still frightened about what happened with you.

Rin:

When he saw you go down hard and not come back up, he was scared as he ran up to your manager demanding answers.

He saw your bruised and battered body unmoving in the ring as tears sprang to his eyes. Seeing you like this was terrifying, the thought of losing you like this.

He held your cold, limp hand in his all the way to the hospital, kissing it and muttering to you to wake up.

Due to the damange, you were in a coma, seeing you hooked to all of those machines got to Rin. He hated seeing you like this.

Rin talked to you every day while you were in your coma. Telling you about what was happening with your guys' friends, how your parents were doing, what they brought you and all the things you two would do when you woke up.

After three week, you finally woke up from your coma and had to go through various tests and therapy which he was there with you through it all.

When Rin brough you home he made sure to take care of you since you were still recovering. He was clingy for good reasons.

After talking to Rin you decided to take a long break from boxing after you incident and he was grateful for it.

Rei:

He never worried about you in the ring, he knew something bad would have to happen and you were a great boxer, you were unmatched.

However, when you went down and didn't get bakc up, his heart sank as he rushed to the side of the ring as he saw the medics surrounding you and load your unmoving body on a gurney.

He was with you in the ambulance, his eyes scanning your body...he was afraid to touch you in case he made something worse and your condition was already bad to start.

He broke down once the doctor left saying he wasn't sure when you'd wake up due to the severity of your injuries.

Rei visited you in the hospital every day, he couldn't stay because he couldn't handle seeing you hooked up to everything for long, his stoic demenor would fall and he had to be strong.

When he got the call you were awake, he rushed to the hospital and his heart filled with relief as he saw you smile at him when you walked into the room.

He made sure that everything was in order and made sure you were taking the correct medicines and going to the right physical therapy appointments.

After a tearful talk when he brough you home, you decided to take a hiatus from boxing and recover and spend time with Rei.

Nagisa:

He was always worried about you when you boxed. He hated seeing you get bloddied and bruised or worse. He was always your biggest cheerleader though! Screaming at the top of his lungs for you to win.

When you got hit in the back and feel, but didn't get back up, he went silent as dread filled him before he rushed to the ring jumping in without a second thought. The medics held him back since it was a back/spinal injury.

Nagisa was a mess, crying and screaming for you to wake up and to open your eyes as you were taken away, him not far behind.

He went quiet as silent tears fell, his eyes never leaving your unmoving form. Stroking the back of your hand with his thumb he was hoping you'd wake up soon.

Refused to leave your side, the only time he did was to get new clothes for him and food, other than that he stayed by your side even after you woke up.

He was clingy and affectionate, holding you, kissing you and just being with you, which was fair considering he though he lost you.

When he brought you back home, he was making sure you were comfortable and showered you with affection.

He pleaded to you one night to take a break from boxing and you agreed wiping the tears from Nagisa's face.

Hey! I would love to hear your thoughts on how style 5 would react to their sweet girlfriend admitting she feels very safe with them, which is significant bc she grew up in an abusive household. If this makes you uncomfortable pls delete it!!

Haru

He's pretty sensitive himself, even if it might be hard to see it at times.

So when Haru began noticing how you've been letting your "guard down" around him for a while, he can't help but think about the things you told him about your past and the abusive relationships in your life.

He knows it must have been hard, and it must have taken a toll on how you relate to people now.

The moment you tell him about how at peace and safe you feel when you're together, he can't help but smile.

He acknowledges how important it is that you feel comfortable enough to even share this with him. So he lets you know how much that means to him with physical affection (he still believes he's great with words), if you’re comfortable with that. If not, he’d treat you to your favorite meal.

Makoto

It probably was very early into the relationship when you realized how comfortable and safe it always felt with Makoto. He’s truly one of the nicest people you know, and he’s specially sweet with you being his s/o.

He’d be beaming with joy and confidence when you let him know, he’ll feel warm and special, too. Either he will be melting into a puddle of tears from his uncontrollable sobbing or he will be all smiles for the rest of the week (maybe even month????). Or maybe both, in that same order.

What’s safe to say, he won’t ever let you go, figuratively and literally speaking. Bear hugs, lots of bear hugs. Beware.

Rei

He could cry on command after you tell him how you feel, honestly.

Rei is very knowledgeable about the psychology behind being constantly exposed to abusive environments, because after you told him your story, he spent weeks researching how he could help you feel more comfortable and what not to do.

He’d be happy that his research worked and he was about to tell you about it when you thanked him for being so nice to you. Then, he realizes you are really nice to him too. And maybe his research wasn't everything there is to how close your relationship has grown. 

Rei loves you, and he wants to make you feel special when you're together, and even maybe when you're not, if possible. He lets you know, and makes sure you feel free to tell him whenever something’s wrong at all. 

Nagisa

It would mean the world to him; he'd be very blushy and would let out soft giggles.

Nagisa would probably brag about it with everyone he knows, maybe even to strangers. Your barista taking your order? Sure, why not? “Hey! My lovely y/n feels very safe with me! I’m a good boyfriend!!”

You might earn a few weird looks from weird people, but most of them would smile back and congratulate your relationship. 

He will never let go of your hand, he will protect you until the end of his days. Nagisa seriously feels so proud that he can make you feel this way, so he will give you lots of love so it can stay that way. 

Rin

At first, it would take him a minute to process. But then, he'd become unnoticeably flustered, slightly turning his face away from you, and pulling you in for a side hug.

After the big knot in his throat softens up, he'll mumble a little "me too".

He didnt quite grow up in an abusive household, but his childhood was in fact neglectful, so he can very much understand what you mean. And he feels the same way about you. He really won destiny's lottery or perhaps saved an entire country in his past life.

Rin is very glad you're by his side; and, if going through a tough childhood was the price he had to pay to be able to experience the level of fulfillness he has with you... He'd go through it again, no doubt.
