The sun ☀️ is shining! Oh, what a beautiful day! . . Happy Wednesday friends. It’s daffodils and daffodils 🌼 over here at #thepondsfarmhouse 🤗 . . I just couldn’t resist adding a few 😉 around the house. Since I’m still working on my Spring decor for the guest room, I thought a splash of sunshine ☀️🌼 was called for. . . This room always makes me smile even without the splashes of yellow! It holds so many of our family treasures. The bed and the clock are from my husband’s family and just out of view you’ll find my grandmother’s trunk and my father’s hand built gun cabinet which we’ve repurposed of course! 😉😍 I’ll share those another sunshiny day! 🥰 . . Nothing warms up a room like vintage and especially those items passed along to us over time! 🥰🥰🤗 . . I’m so so glad we kept all these amber bottles. 🧡🧡 . . I’ll be honest, when we inherited these bottles from my father in law, I wasn’t sure what I was going to do with so many old bottle and jugs. . . He was a land surveyor and when he was working, he’d run across old junk piles and he’d bring home anything of interest. Believe me, he had a lot of old junk. 😱 . . Although I didn’t know what I was going to do with these treasures, we’ve never considered getting rid of them. . . I did give my daughter a few when we were moving, but otherwise I’ve kept them all. Hey, you know I’m a lover of old stuff and even if I don’t have a place for everything at the moment, I hang on to things. . . And wouldn’t you know it, everyone is loving these vintage jugs right now. 🧡 . . So lesson learned, keep your sentimental treasures and eventually you may even display them in your home. 🤗 . . Industrial staircase! 😍😍😍 . . If you’ve read my blog post about planning our forever farmhouse house, you know we had a list of priorities for this home. The metal railing was certainly one of the top. . . Although we had some resistance to this idea, I’m so glad we didn’t give in to it. . . I find that resistance comes from those who don’t think outside the box. Your creative ideas may not be the norm for them. So they try to talk you out of the idea. 😬 . . Whether you’re building, remodeling or just styling your home, let your uniqueness shine. Be creative in your choices. If you love it, that’s all that matters. . . We rarely regret the things we do. It’s the things we don’t do that eat away at us. I’m sure there’s a quote in there somewhere. 🤗 . . Pier dining 🧡 . . It started with a rusty wagon wheel. I spied it unwanted and rusting away. I could just see it hanging from our piers gazebo 🤗 . . No one in my family saw its value but me. 🙋‍♀️. The spokes had long ago rotted away so all that remains is a rusty rim. However, I could see it decorated for every season and began gathering my supplies for my fall inspiration 🍁🍂. . . We purchased some heavy rope from @loweshomeimprovement and some black metal spray paint. . . I found this adorable table runner and the led lighted leaf 🍁 garland on Amazon (link to Items from my profile). I also picked up these great fall stems from @dollartree . . I received this cute “Gather” graphic design from @brynnedecorprints and put it in one of my vintage frames 🧡. It adds the perfect touch for a fall alfresco dining experience. . . I added a couple vintage stools for serving and added some candles. The dishes are vintage and the bowls were a @homegoods find last year. I love how it came together. It’s the perfect romantic spot for glass of wine and dining under the stars ⭐️ 🍁🍁 or leaves 🍁 🤭. . . I’m so easily inspired 🤗🤗 . . When I saw my friend Amy @myrustichouse add her amber bottles to her fall decor, I was inspired to pull mine out. 🤗 . . Then I saw the always inspiring @lizmariegalvan had displayed hers with some vintage labels and another idea sparked. 🧡 . . I had these adorable graphics from Karen @graphicsfairy 🧡 with instructions on how to age them for a rusted appearance. I’m still working on the rusted part Karen 😬! But overall I’m still happy with how they look on my bottle collection. . . My bottle collection was inherited from my father in law. He was a surveyor and salvaged a lot of bottles from junk piles over the years. I’m fortunate to have 1/2 of all his junk. 😍🤭. . . It was LOVE at first sight. 💗💗💗💗 . . For this lovely architectural piece that is. 💕💕 . . I fell instantly in love with this piece and fortunately my husband agreed that it would make a great Valentines gift. 💃💃💃 . . I knew it was meant to be mine when I spotted it on @henhousevintage page and it was still available. Plus, they just happened to be delivering in my area so I could check it out in person. After a brief (probably suspicious looking meeting 🤣 in the Lowes parking lot), we brought this baby to its rightful home. 😂😂 . .
