Tino Book 2

Just read chapter 2. We just met Tino's dad, and here's what I think so far...

Not getting much of an introduction to Tino's familiar was kinda funny to me. MC is just suddenly in a carriage with two men, a cat, a squirrel, and a raccoon.

I can't believe Daan only got reassigned to work for a rich family in the countryside. This game really hates punishing its villains.

It's sad we don't get to meet Tino's mom, but I'm floored that things are even more relaxed in the countryside. More relaxed than Liam? Liam-"let's just celebrate my birthday when everything's ready"-Akedia? They must not bother even getting out of bed out there.

Lynt says Styn is terrifying when he's angry, but I feel like this doesn't say much. If he rarely explodes with rage when he has good reason to, he's normal. If that's a daily occurrence, and it's over nothing, there's a problem. Also, I'm not sure what Lynt's bar for terrifying is. Lynt is very kind, so his bar could be on the floor. On the other hand, he tends to sleep on Guy, who terrifies most students at the academy.

One of the first things Styn says to MC is, "My Tino is not without his flaws, I fear, but he is exceptionally lucky to have you. I hope you will treat one another well." On it's own, that's probably not much to worry about. Nobody's perfect, and parents who think their kids are perfect probably raised entitled menaces and enable their bad behavior. But Tino's generally anxious temperament, zero self-esteem, and history of abuse is making me view this comment with a bit more scrutiny. 🚩 Welp, I'm uncomfortable.

Spoilers for Tino Book 1

I'm hoping since they did NOTHING to Daan in Tino's book 1 he's going to be the antagonist again in book 2 and MC confronts Styn about doing fuck all about Tino and Daan when they were kids. I mean, he is still the head of the family and Daan is still hurting Tino. I really want Styn to apologize to Tino for making him feel like he wasn't worth protecting.
