hey everyone, an update: unfortunately the next chapters for all my pending fics (cloaked, road less travelled, get me off this ride) will take quite a while (and i cannot say how long) because

a) i got a job :(

b) i got hospitalised :(

BUT i’m fine now. however considering these updates please understand it’s taking me pretty long to sort my life together enough to find some (pain-free) time to open my google docs. like always though i want to state again that i do not want to give up on these fics. the updates will come please give me some time 🙏

god ive been going over some steven universe clips again recently and I’m genuinely so impressed with how godamn well done most of its characters arcs are, they’re all so unique and compelling . pearl’s whole character just floors me . rose’s backwards character development is equally as amazing and is fascinating to think about . and the way the main characters are allowed to fuck up and hurt one another and still learn to move past it together . the lengths the show goes to show just how deep trauma can run and how you can still heal despite it, even when the situation is less than ideal, even when you have to make compromises , even when you reach out to others and only get bit in return . the world is full of barbed wire but love can soothe all hurt if only you choose to do the work of healing together

sorta struggling with editing the next chap of guns at your feet bc im ill and work has been pure hell so im afraid i wont be able to get the chapter out mid-week. maybe end of the week, friday/saturday!

HEY EVERYONE READING THIS if you love witches/gore/horror/very sexy people PLEASE PLEASE tap into the The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself on netflix! season 1 is out rn and it’s one of the best YA fantasy shows ever made.

vfx, cinematography, acting, score, character development, lgbt rep etc are all 10/10 PLUS it has a bisexual black man as the lead who is the center of a throuple 🙏🏼 netflix has been horrid with marketing but I have faith in this little show (and it’s been praised by critics!) so lets get them their renewal 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

EDIT: it got cancelled and I expected nothing better from a streaming platform which actively kills its shows with people of colour at the forefront. anyway if you’re still planning to watch the show please do so because it’s genuinely good and the ending can be seen as definitive! congrats to the team for managing to make such an excellent show and they deserved so, so much better than being forced to perform in one MONTH and getting cancelled right after with no room to breathe

something that really pisses me off is this headcanon that ice would have been or was against mav pulling bradley’s papers for the academy.

like i’m sorry but I need some of you to think for a second. this is a man whose jet wash indirectly also led to the accident that resulted in goose’s death and probably carried that guilt for half his life too. this is also the man who was there to watch mav and carole grieve for the brother/husband they lost for YEARS. not to mention he was close to goose as well since they were both at the academy. like he would have wanted to protect bradley just as much as mav did when he made the decision to pull the papers. it’s a dumb moment for both of them but again. 100% they would have both thought they were doing the right thing for bradley.
