Why did you all let me stop watching this episode before I got to this life changing conversation???
He took this deep, brave breath and I was all ready to be proud of him BUT THEN HE REALLY WENT AND DUMPED HER THROUGH A TEXT.
This kid contains multitudes, and all of them are personal attacks on me.
Aw, she doesn’t let him off the hook, but she just drops it when she sees he’s hurt and they hug and these kids are too good for this world.
Amethyst’s all like ‘guess our kid’s developing some lowkey emotional problems, eh?’
Meanwhile Pearl’s just 110% on board, ready to do this, sonboy is an UNPARALLELED GENIUS.
Agggh the tremor in her tiny voice as she dramatically dooms herself to a life of no friendships?
She’s so scared of what he’ll say but she calls him anyway, and then calls him out on his shit because she’s so pissed off and I love her even more for being willing to take a stand, even if it’s going to hurt her. Obviously Connie and Steven aren’t going to stay broken up for more than a couple episodes, but suddenly everything seems a little harder. There’s more consequences than can be contained in a ten minute episode.
Steven is suddenly aware of how much harm he can inflict on the world but no one is modelling how to deal with that in a way that isn’t isolating yourself to help others - Greg drove off to deal with things alone, Pearl and Amethyst are like the Madagascar of gems...
And three thumbs up to Connie for taking a stand for herself and demanding that if she’s not going to let in anymore, she’s at least owed an honest explanation for why.
