Punk Stan?!

Pra mim, Stan foi um alternativo na adolescência, ele tentou fazer parte de uma gangue, mas sempre foi melhor solo. Usava uma jaqueta de couro e fumava o cigarro mais barato possível, seu cabelo longo realça o estilo "desleixado", com certeza ele tinha uma cara que facilmente te espancaria se você olhasse ele.

Claro, a sub cultura não é apenas uma "fase", ou estética, Stanley odiaria com todas as forças o sistema, e odiaria mais ainda ser obrigado a fazer parte dele, se não seria rejeitado por todos. Uma parte dele está louco por dinheiro, correndo como um desesperado, outra ferver em desgosto por causa dessa maldita moeda de troca que fez sua família o abandonar.

Ele está invadindo shows e participando de bate cabeça em alguma roda punk(inclusive roubando alguma guitarra da banda e beijando o vocalista).

Stan mais velho apenas deixou de participar ativamente disso por causa de um gravity Falls e seu irmão perdido no portal. Então ele deu sua vida por isso, e com passa do anos apenas não tinha mais vontade de cometer tantas atrocidades porque suas costas estão doloridas, e aquela cidade já tinha emoção demais, diferente de sua antiga vida na rua que precisava procura qualquer coisa para senti o mínimo de felicidade. Mas a essência ainda está ali, se você o convida para um debater ou apenas para toca um velha é boa música de rock.

hiii, i absolutely love your fic sub-culture, and one of my favorite things about it is the popular culture tidbits and period accuracy, in general and also specifically regarding the lgbt+ community!! reading all your notes is so interesting, and that leads me into my question: where do you get all your info from?? because i’d really love to learn more about 80s pop culture and 80s gay culture, but i don’t really know where to start lol

wow thank you so much - sorry for my late response!! i love doing the historical detail, and it means the world that people enjoy it.

my first introduction to 80s gay culture was the movie pride, which is about solidarity between the gay community and the miners in 80s britain. it really introduced me to ideas of protest and solidarity and in passing the aids crisis, which is pivotal for 80s gay culture. i can't recommend it highly enough.

from there, it's really been a case of googling. 80s music is maybe my favourite era, so i know a lot about that innately, but you can learn a lot even from wikipedia! other amazing resources include the glbt historical society, which has online exhibitions that really show what being gay in the 80s was like in practice, not just descriptions; the act up oral history project has some amazing interviews (+ transcripts); this is a good general directory for other resources. in terms of tv and film, i can really recommend it's a sin, which is a modern tv show about the aids crisis in britain in the 80s. and just immerse yourself! listen to 80s playlists, watch 80s movies (a personal favourite is ferris bueller's day off) and have fun with it - it's such an interesting, fun, and also tragic era to delve into.
