A few weeks ago I visited the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck in order to research Triceratops skulls. I was fortunate enough to be able to visit with some paleontologists there and make extensive observations of their beautifully mounted specimen. I drew each of these four, 30″x36″ one hour studies from life in order to capture the perspective and presence that the full size ~6′ long head possesses in order to more accurately convey that same feeling in the life size triceratops head that I’m beginning to sculpt.

Big horn sheep creature finished and installed in the client's home! He's been half finished in my studio for about 6 months so it's nice to finally have him completed and in a safe permanent spot.

I was recently commissioned to sculpt on and "flesh" out this bighorn sheep skull. It took a while to solve the structural issues of supporting a ~45 lb skull off of the wall about a foot, but it hasn't fallen yet, so that's a good sign. I'll post more progress as it happens..
