Subcon Forest is known as a place of death. What was once a kingdom that was frozen over by a vengeful queen, now thawed & thriving in a dying world, but made unsafe to enter by a creature rumoured to be of abyssal origin. A creature known as The Subcon Collector, who would make sure that not one person can leave. It doesn’t matter if you’re a regular mortal or a vision wielder, for those with visions find them to be less than useless once entering. Soon, as some will find, not even a creature of the abyss can escape it’s grasp.

It took two weeks after The Collector became well known for the first hilichurl scout to be sent in, alone. The hilichurl, which would later be known as Harvest, had been found by a subconite going by “M”, & she had subsequently dragged him into one of The Collector’s vine traps, or “summoning circles” as the younger ones call it. The presence of a living being in one of the traps had, of course, gotten the spirit’s attention, and she made her presence known quickly. Now, at this point, The Collector had been expecting yet another “lost” mortal or ghost hunter that she would steal the soul of & later kill, keeping the soul with her.

The abyss scout had not been a welcome surprise, as it meant that The Abyss’s attention had been drawn to her forest. Plus, it wasn’t like she could kill it without it reforming in Abyss territory. But then she remembered how most abyssal creatures were created & she decided to do a little check. Yep, the hilichurl had a soul. And that meant sentience that was at very least being suppressed by abyssal energy.

It took the only the promise of freedom & safety from Abyssal & Celestial forces to negate the surpression & be able to get the soul contract signed. A strategy that would then work on all other hilichurls who entered, no matter the type or size. They would then be turned into dwellers, & if they wanted to, subconites. She wasn’t lying about the protection. They can’t be killed or hurt anymore.
