Tongue out Tuesday feat. Momo!
Could anyone who owns a trans-pecos rat snake let me know what their general temperament and ease of handling & keeping are like? Please and thank you! 🐍
Here are my new additions that I had teased in my last update post on here! They are a very gorgeous unrelated pair of Trans-Pecos Ratsnakes (Bogertophis subocularis) born this past October. Female is on the left, male on the right. Named Sitri and Jeralt (iykyk)
New friend: acquired. 🐍
Baby boy. Baby.
First time breeding the subocs! Gotta wait a long time before those eggs hatch.
Echo shed last night…. So in theory he is growing. 😂 But I did discover recently that if he is indeed the age I was told he was, he’s half the weight he should be. Granted, I have no idea how often and how much he was or wasn’t fed for the first 1-1 1/2 years of his life. I’ve upped his food size and am ordering higher quality feeders. I keep hoping to get a sample for a fecal test, but it’s like he is intentionally only pooping when I’m gone all day. But, he is perfect in every other way- active, curious, great appetite… he’s just very wee. 44 grams to be exact. But fear not! He’s still the cutest snake in the galaxy! #transpecosratsnake #bogertophissubocularis #suboc #snake https://www.instagram.com/p/CZSfC9MPEoC/?utm_medium=tumblr
