Black Lives Matter and Fox News
Okay, so this has come out of left field. Since the death of Mike Brown in 2014, BLM has been working to bring awareness to policy brutality and 21st century race issues through nonviolent protest and action.
Let me make something clear. Black Lives Matter is a movement first and foremost. A peaceful movement. But then last week, all Fox News TV “personality” Elisabeth Hasselbeck had to do was ask why BLM was not labeled as a hate group (or terrorist organization) for everything to go to hell.
Now every conservative with a microphone is blaming the movement for every dead cop in america.
White people (and their black “yes” men) need to go to hell.
For some review, lets go into the definition of hate group.
According to wikipedia, via the FBI: A hate group is an organized group or movement that advocates and practices hatred, hostility, or violence towards members of a race, ethnicity, nation, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation or any other designated sector of society.
Okay, so we got that out of the way. But just so we are all clear, how about a terrorist organization?
The U.S. Code of Federal Regulations defines terrorism as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives.
Ok, now that we’ve dropped some knowledge, what has BLM done for either definitions to apply to the group at all? Both a hate group and the act of terrorism need HATE for it to function at its true purpose.
When has Black Lives Matter been about anything other than black love?
I swear we can’t have anything without it having to be about somebody else. Our culture gets appropriated, but when we speak up its reverse racism or some bullshit like that.
We can’t have BET, we cant have slang. We hardly got tumblr, its impossible to create a safe black space. We can’t even have a positive movement without it somehow, someway having to be about white people.
