Dammit. XD. Where Fish crosses over with MCU. I don't even know the character but you have me intrigued.
To sum up the other ask, this is about the ‘what fic would you want me to write’ meme thing and Whizzy wanted an AU where Fish, etc. XD
So let me start off by saying I am so, so down with Fish crossing over into MCU. I would also have no idea how to do it, sadly. Like, I know the Maggia is a thing, but I’ve never really seen much with it? If I’d actually gotten into Daredevil, I’d probably have more for you, but that show never managed to actually keep me engaged so I still haven’t finished it. ^_^;;; I think my biggest challenge with that would be she’s definitely a street-level villain and I don’t really know much about street-level heroes in Marvel. Which is funny, since I’m a big Bats fan, so a lot of my DC knowledge is the opposite since Gotham City is entrenched with them.
That said, I was considering her working with Doom. Like, I have no idea how that’d go down, but the two of them working together would be amazing. They’re similar in some aspects, both being careful plotters (though I think Fish is a bit more rash when pushed to the extremes at the end of the season, she definitely has that element of chessmaster too and plays the bigger picture) and used to being in charge. Them working against each other would also be interesting. Cause she is tough as nails, playing at being a lady on the surface while definitely being rough underneath. So regardless of if they’re working together or working against each other, it would definitely be an interesting dynamic. I think where they’d run into trouble is that she does take Family seriously. She’s willing to sacrifice Family if need be, but she will be out for blood after it and she protects those she considers Hers. Like, you see Penguin trying to have that dynamic in the show, but he ultimately fails with it, whereas Fish owns that quality and it’s completely integral to her character.
Really, Doctor Doom and Fish Mooney just need to happen. XD
I would honestly rec watching the first season of Gotham just for Fish. She’s amazing, and Jada Pinkett Smith really nails the perfect balance of theatrical and over the top. Like, my interest in the show isn’t really flagging in season two, though I’m definitely not as enthused about it as I used to be, and I think a part of that is our current Fish-less existence. That and killing female characters for shock value that the writers are keen on recently. >.> I’m really hoping they’re playing a long game with Fish though. They’ve been dropping hints to leave that option open, and like, a large part of that is going to be dependent on the actress herself still being available and willing, I’m assuming. But the show runners were completely reveling in the fact no one stays dead in comics in one of their interviews towards the end of season one and the fact people in the show are still waiting for Fish’s return gives me certain they’re definitely open to the idea and planning for it.
