Subtle death.
Have you ever noticed A tiny detail Only after it goes missing?
Like how when you Looked out the window While listening to me, I realized you usually Look to my face, And I missed it. Like when you kept Eating your sandwich With indifference when I walked in the room I realized you usually look up To give me a nod And i missed it. Like how when we walked To our classroom in silence I realised you didn't comment On today's weather Or the boy with a funny attitude Or how you slept instead Of learning for today's test And I missed it. I missed a hundred such Little gestures that I had gotten used to So effortlessly. I missed the way It completed our Conversations and added Life to it. I missed and feared That their absence Were symptoms of The end of us. Because small things Often hint us the reality That greater acts Fail to render.
