For some reason I recall this band as being one of my first punk shows. It was with Dropkick Murphys (with the original singer) and perhaps The Disenchanted? It was at the QE2 in Albany, NY. I don’t recall much in the way of specifics, but I get a very nostalgic feeling that it was an important night in my heart. I danced, I probably drank, and I probably lied about where I was to my parents.

Over the years, I saw them a few other times, and what I remember most what the camaraderie between everyone at their shows. We threw our arms around each other when we sang along to the choruses. We picked each other up off the floor when someone fell, dancing wildly. That is something that was specific to punk shows in my youth, and that I don’t see at shows now. I feel lucky to have experienced it. I feel lucky to have seen this band that was such a big part of my musical life as a teenager.

RIP Micky Fitz.
