Success is a concept that arises out of the concept of purpose, so true success in terms of what it means to be a human being is the achievement of the soul's purpose. It could be said that all of religion, all of spirituality, revolves around this.

What if the measure of success was the amount of joy you have in your life.
The Fear of Failure The fear of failure often castrates dreams. Far from being an expression of modesty or humility, the fear of failure is a tool of the devil within, obstructing your capacity to contribute by means of self-doubt. Your fear of failure is the product of a misunderstanding of what it means to fail. You are transfixed on outcomes, believing that dreams are achieved when you get what you want from the universe. Hence, success or failure is not in your hands. If you do not get what you want, you have failed. There is a (very) high possibility that you will not get what you want, so why try? The Almighty has granted us an alternative definition. In order to avoid the anguish of living an unfulfilled life, we are instructed to strive in His Way with all that we have (61:10). It is the striving, the process of self-discovery and the intention of honouring the gift of existence that is success itself. The outcome of our efforts is the product of His Mercy and His Eternal Knowledge of that which is appropriate for the universe. Therefore, whether you fail or not is entirely within your control. Are you trying to be the best you can be? Are you endeavouring to become whole? Are you seeking to serve? If so, you are a success, and your light will illuminate the hearts of others. If not, strive to be all that you can be. Doing so protects you from failure.
