"I just don't understand why he has to stay here while he's sick, look at this place, it's a disaster!",multiple mugs clinked together in Harold's hands, contaminated 'trophies' he'd collected from around the living room and guest bedroom, all in various states of fullness with thick and congealed blood.
He'd been less than thrilled to return home from work yesterday to find a certain, freeloading vampire dozing in the bed he shared with his wife, and even less thrilled to find he was festering with germs!
He wasn't really a germaphobe but he did have a certain dislike for those that couldn't bother to cover their mouths..
Devina accepted the mugs, submerging them into the hot and soapy water she'd run in the sink,"I know but it's probably just more comfortable here than in chilly, damp catacombs, ya know--?".
Her words were cut short by a sudden and loud sneeze sounding from the hallway, both looking to the source currently leaning heavily against the doorframe.
Uriel, draped in nothing but Harold's favorite robe and slippers, and his own boxer briefs, looked utterly miserable. The vampire was somehow paler than normal yet his cheeks bore a deep, pink flush and his nose was stained red and raw around the edges, white hair framing his features and making the pink and red somehow stand even more stark against the rest of his face.
"SnDrrGK! Devinda..? Oh, welcombe hombe..",he forced an exhausted but flirty smile, shuffling his way over to embrace her, resting his warm face atop her head,"I'mb so sorry for droppi'g in unannounced, I just didn'd kndow w-where tdo tuuhhrn--".
Broad nostrils flared dangerously, dark eyes squeezing shut as his chest hitched and buckled with the building need to sneeze. Fanning the air in front of his face, sneezy tears rolled down either cheek.
"HiHhhH! HuuuuHHh! HUHHh?"
Harold flinched instinctively, having already been sprayed more than once that day, still he lunged for the slightly damp dish towel drying on the counter, bumping Devina out of the line of fire,"Oh no you don't, you overgrown plague rat!".
Despite the dramatic buildups, the resulting sneezes were weak and fairly soft, mostly just a testament to the creature's current fatigue that managed to earn a cringe of pity from both humans.
"HhP'KstCHIEWW! 'KsTCHEh'Uh! Heh'KNXgTSCH!"
"Eugh, bless you, Uriel.."
"Yeah, gesundheit, hun! Don't worry about staying here, I'd rather you be here where we can watch over you than all by your lonesome in the church!",she cooed, slipping a hand between the ailing man's shoulder blades, idly offering gentle scratches that she could feel him relaxing into,"Why don't I warm you up some blood, hm? Go lay down while I get it ready.".
Uriel gave a bleary nod, giving Harold a slightly smug look as he shuffled off towards the living room, coughing openly and groaning as he rubbed his neck, his throat inflamed and as raw as his nose.
"If you find mbe so unkempt and mbessy, mbight I advise ndot followi'g mbe around like a lost puppy?",he croaked once they were out of earshot of the kitchen, giving the huffy man another, wider smile as he plopped down on the couch.
Harold bristled, puffing up indignantly, glancing to make sure Devina wouldn't hear them,"Hard not to follow you when you insist on haunting my home with your germs! If I don't follow you around, I'll never catch up on sanitizing everything..".
A thick snort punctuated the throaty chuckle Uriel emitted, studying his reluctant partner through half lidded and glassy eyes, shivering as he sank further under the blanket he'd previously left discarded on the couch.
Normally he'd flirt and taunt his way right into the other's pants right about now but he simply felt too exhausted to humor him beyond a snarky smirk but even that was lackluster and pitiful.
Closing his eyes, he coughed again though this time it was deeper and wetter, making him curl up on himself as the fit wracked his tall frame, leaving him gasping and whimpering softly to himself.
The red head's scowl slowly softened watching Uriel struggle, t
apping his foot with indecision before caving and rolling his eyes, coming over to sit beside him, gently helping him upright to rest against his chest.
"Just come here already, I'm doomed to catch this anyways. Don't get used to it though..!",he grumbled quietly, still not entirely trusting the vamp to not drain his blood at a moment's notice but maybe he wasn't so bad.
"I kndew you liked mbe~",he rasped, already falling back asleep against his human's warm and inviting chest and pointedly ignoring the rapid thumping of blood pumping in and out of his heart..for now.
