David Pierre or as his friends and family members often call him, "Doc P," is Haitian-American and hails from "Brick City" Newark, New Jersey. He attended the basketball powerhouse St. Patricks High School in Elizabeth, NJ (now "The Patrick School"). He then attended Cook College (School of Environmental and Biological Sciences) at Rutgers University where he credits the Equal Opportunity Fund (EOF) Program and the Office of Diversity for the Success and Sciences (ODASIS) for his academic and professional success. David then obtained a Masters of Science in Biological Sciences degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Graduate School of Biological Sciences (now Rowan). He subsequently matriculated into the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) in Philadelphia, PA to obtained his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine (DO). While in medical school he commissioned as an officer in the Delaware Air National Guard and proudly serves as a captain with intentions on becoming a flight surgeon. He did his residency training at Christiana Care Family Medicine Residency in Wilmington, DE the only full service Level 1 trauma center on the East corridor between Baltimore and Philadelphia. He served as chief resident in his last year of post graduate training. During residency he completed a Training In Health Policy (TIPS) Fellowship with the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) and the New York Institute of Technology (NYIT). Following the completion of residency, he accepted a position as an Assistant Professor of Family and Community Medicine at the University of Missouri. professionally.
