I made the mistake of going to several therapists with my abuser. Everything that I shared in confidence was later used against me as a way to discredit me, or make me out to be the unstable/crazy one. Do not be tricked into thinking your abuser wants to "work on your relationship". It is only a ploy to further draw you in and make you more vulnerable to them.
