Lily Orchard STILL Doesn't Understand Steven Universe

I decided to round out the year by ending Lily Orchard's whole career.

Fair warning: I swear. Alot. Alot alot.

About a month ago I decided to react to Lily's two most recent Steven Universe videos from 2023 on my weekly art stream. The reacts ended up going so well I have now edited them down into one comprehensive video with visual aids and gags along the way.

So if you ever wanted to hear me clown on an SU hater for 2 hours while giggling incessantly, making gremlin noises, explaining SU and info dumping all of my own headcanons... well now you have that!

Here's to me becoming more of an unleashed gremlin in the new year.

Can you not make fun of su crit in the su crit tag?

I mean everyone who posts in the tag is already doing a good job of ruining the tag anyway so what harm can I do

I’m half joking because I know mainstream sucrit is just like that but like, the only people who would benefit from convincing everyone that an incredibly progressive cartoon with happy gay main characters and a literal lesbian jewish wedding made by a bisexual nonbinary jewish person is somehow nazi propoganda is the nazis themselves. So like, what if that entire conspiracy theory was made or at the very least spread by nazis themselves?

Like, think about it--what is the biggest threat to hate? Kids growing up tolerant. If kids grow up tolerant, fewer grow up to hate. Progressive shows like Steven Universe are at the very least a huge factor in kids growing up tolerant. But if people think those shows are nazi propaganda, they get cancelled or parents stop their kids from watching them, even if it’s clearly not the case. That, in turn, would cause more kids to grow up intolerant, which means more potential new recruits for hate groups in the future.

Just something for y’all to consider.

i remember watching lapis’ redemption arc on tv at my friends house (this was before i even knew what su critical was, i loved su, i was a stan!) and even then

i thought it was rlly weird, totally odd even, to watch her character arc, how she interacted with others, and how she looked to an extent. i was so excited for it and i felt a bit disappointed. i loved lapis! she was one of my all time fave characters at the time! and i felt let down? she wasnt what i thought, she was so interesting, and i just, felt so weird watchin it. i remember running to the couch to watch with all my friends and we all got so excited watchin her every moment, and we all felt let down.

i dunno. i think that just proves how the quality kinda dropped, how lapis’ character just dropped.

Tbh I think a lot of you sucritical people need to check to make sure you aren't being racist, homophobic, transphobic, or sexist in your claims because at least 30% of mainstream sucrit opinions are one of those things (usually racist, specifically towards Jewish people) and too many people in the sucrit community tend to believe every criticism made about the show even if it's objectively wrong

why was peridot reduced to such a dry character? she used to be this cool, mysterious gem but now she's?? gay ipad user that loves everything??? like what? i want the peridot that has actual proportions that make sense and a mute color palette and a PERSONALITY.
