I WAS LOOKING AT SODA'S TOYHOUSE GALLERY AND I HAVE A QUESTION
oh that's just suda he's chill
(Suda is actually a primitive version of what a ponydog looks like. Ponydogs start out like that before they look like Soda. Think of it as Soda before he evolved.)
Y'all be writing off late Greek-Roman sources just cause you assume they are in Latin and they are not old.
The superior KID PIX !!!! Something about using terrible programs… the absolute sheer joy…
The first slide is Shiroyabu "Jabroni", the best character ever conceived, from The 25th Ward, the best piece of media ever conceived
Makaria is one person id say
from the Suda "[A way of referring to] death. [Makaria was] a daughter of Hades. And [there is] a proverb: "be gone into blessedness", meaning into misery and utter destruction. Or "begone into blessedness" [is said] by euphemism. Since even the dead are called blessed ones. [Makaria was] also a daughter of Herakles, whom the Athenians buried with very expensive funeral rites when she had died on their behalf."
Euripides, Heracleidae is my favorite play, and Makaria herself is cool, but I don't think people realize that Makaria is connected not just to the underworld but to PERSEPHONE, whom the sacrifice is for, and if you asked me (hi!) an act of vengeance against Theseus blood for the whole attempted kidnapping thing. The fact that this comes way before and by the big E himself makes me understandably certain that these two characters must be one and the same, far too specific to match. Perhaps reborn as a god-like Hippolytus or many others. why would this happen? Makaria isn't Athenian. sacrifice could've been Athenian, but she volunteered. Revenge averted. Innocent killed. cycles of rebirth and change persophone is the only big god I can think of that adopted mortals and reared them, for example, adonis. aligns with themes of innocence lost and early death and that's classic persophone themes remember it results in a new role in the underworld.
i find that the counterargument is often "she cant have TWO dads!" to that I say nuh uh.
too many coincidences with makaria and the rulers of the underworld. i wouldn't be surprised if there is a lost apotheosis myth.
i am insane and not to be trusted
currently working on a pc (shin, not yet introduced) x avery comic, but i realized i needed an avery design.
to set the tone on what kind of story and dynamic my pc and avery will have, i'm going to be taking major inspiration from one of my favorite artists: harada.
Name: Suda Age: Young Adult Profession: Apprentice Healer Background: Bubbly and full of energy, Suda is the current apprentice of Lady Lulu. As an apprentice, Suda is the least experienced of the healers currently on staff in the Healing Halls, but she's eager to learn and maybe a little over eager to please. This can cause her to jump the gun a bit at times trying to anticipate what might be needed, don't worry she'll get it right in the end. Most will chalk that up to her age, though she's considered an adult in Zoran society she's yet to hit her last growth spurt, so is still quite short when compared to her peers in the healing halls. Careful not to lose her behind the medicine shelves while she's tracking inventory of their precious medicinal supplies!
