So any ideas on who you might think dean will say yes to in the finale

Hey lovely!

Has there been any official statement on Dean “saying yes” in the season finale? Because I have not been keeping up with spoilers and had just assumed that probably whoever that other character Jensen would be playing would likely end up being part of a cliffhanger but I hadn’t read any of that and of course there are many different ways Jensen could play a different character without any possession needing to be involved.

Just think for example that 2014!verse were Zachariah put Dean back in S5 was actually an alternate reality and with the whole multiverse collapsing - which I assume the show may tackle given Billie as the new Death made such a huge deal about how she doesn’t “need some big old Winchester tearing it all down”. He could perfectly well slip over to the normal SPN world and possibly trade places with our Dean - which would make also an interesting twist given that Dean had “screamed for Michael to be able to say yes”.

So, really maybe Dean doesn’t have to say “yes” to anyone or anything (again if that was a spoiler that is out there and that I don’t know of of course that would allude to possession but could still mean a lot of things lol). Since Jensen said that it was a character we met a long time ago and that he would have to do some research, I kind of went back further than Michael (though the Michael in the cage would be the most obvious route to take) and thought what could be really terrifying and a huge deal and twist in regards to mythology etc. would be if Jensen played Azazel. Though Dean as Death could be interesting too but I doubt that the show would go there (though there would be enough groundwork laid throughout seasons for it to work).

In any case I think it would have to be a character that we have met more than once. I briefly also pondered if they may go and let Jensen “play” John in some twisted universe but I dearly hope that that won’t be the case because that would be just horrible imo.

If we talk angelic possession however aside from the possible most obvious ones such as Michael or Gabriel, I thought about Anael or - which would work with a character from a long time ago - Anna.

I guess we’ll find out more soon! For the time being I am trying to not get my hopes up too much about Jensen getting the opportunity to do something new, because sadly I’d be very surprised if the show under Dabb managed to create something even just half as exciting and wonderful as big parts of the fandom hope for and are able to imagine and come up with. But of course I am always happy to get surprised and proven wrong. ;) Though really if the way this season unfolded is anything to go by, I try to not have any expectations at all in order to not be let down even more than I already feel by this season.

Looks like flashback for dean and Mary in 12x22 since they have young actor to play young dean van check IMDb not sure if goes with discussion of Mary's deal which finally comes into play since dean brings it up to her any thoughts

Yes, I saw that too. The bit about Kid!Dean definitely sparked my interest. :) I assume though that the flashback may rather be about Mary than Dean sadly. And I guess, yes, it may have to do with the night she died or something akin to it. Let’s just hope whatever will be revealed that it won’t put even more hurt on Dean - but I think chances are slim. ;___; *wraps Dean in a huge hug*

Other than that, since Toni Bevell is also in the episode, I assume that the aspect of “being a mother” will also be an integral part of the episode, especially since we very decidely were shown that Toni is also a mother. So I kind of could imagine that Mary may try and forge something on that front with Toni when they face off against each other or however the official description called it.

Ok this might just be me but I don't like the way Sam didn't come clean on everything about the brits. Is he waiting for mom to come clean on the colt and he also says the brits took out the alpha last I checked sam did that with the colt. So how is dean going to find out about this secret sam is keeping mick going to drop that bombshell

I think that may be a pivotal revelation that the writers may keep off for a bit still as it would make a perfect opportunity to truly and completely cause the rift between Dean and Sam and Mary to get even wider and possibly send Dean over the edge and cut ties with them.

The narrative so far has been framing everything surrounding the BritMoL and disagreement and betrayal existing between the Winchesters in a way that only makes sense to be resolved by Dean not conforming to anything the BritMoL do, but sticks to his own guns. Everything else would not just be terribly out of character for Dean, it would also make literally no sense storyline wise. The ending scene of last episode spoke volumes in that regard. Imo the current set up only makes sense to be resolved in proving Dean right in a multitude of things that will happen further down the line regarding who and how the BritMoL are. Sadly enough though, I think Sam and Mary may only see how right Dean was all along when Dean pays a horrible and painful price for their misplaced trust in the wrong people.

I fully expect that from now on the narrative will show Dean butting heads with the BritMoL and Sam and Mary almost on anything and that culminating in a moment where there may be a scene in which Dean will say, alright, we said we’d be out if I said so, no let’s go, but Sam then may choose to stay with Mary instead of keeping his promise to Dean - the whole Colt thing could factor in very well in such a scene too, because it is the ultimate object here that both Mary and Sam have failed to come clean with Dean about - and well, the fact that Mary had valued the Colt more than her sons lives at the time will have a definite lasting effect on Dean. I think it’ll kill him. Not literally of course, but he’ll shut down completely and may slip into a mindset which is even harder for the BritMoL to evaluate or control. So I fully expect the BritMoL to suggest that they need to “reform” Dean, meaning they may try and do something similar to Dean as to the other hunter who happened to work with the Alpha vamp and was “dealt with”, in a way that is “not pleasant”.The question then is, will the BritMoL be open about that? Or will they do that behind Mary and Sam’s backs? Because if they torture Dean and brainwash him or whatever else they are doing to him and Sam and Mary would know about it and wouldn’t interfere I don’t think the show could ever redeem any of them. The much more likely option therefore I assume will be that they may let Sam and Mary believe that when Dean walked out on them (possibly after a blowout in which the Colt will play a part), Dean truly left, but he really didn’t but got captured by them, because they knew Dean was too much of a danger to their operations.Therefore I think Sam and Mary may accidentally realize that the BritMoL do some horrible things to Dean and that may cause them to finally see just what these dickbagf from Great Britain are truly made of.

Hmmm, I just hope that this season will end with Lucifer boxed up for good or dead, because I cannot take that character any longer and any story surrounding him. I still think it was the worst idea to bring Lucifer back this season. They should have just let him have died when Amara pulled him from Cas, but oh well, useless to whine about as it didn’t happen lol.

Now, bold choice. Hmmm, I suppose Kelly is still captured by Daegon. So.. given she knows she’ll die, her trying to kill herself would not make sense, so I guess it will be something else. Curious what Sam may “come up with”. I imagine it may be something like a pre-emptive “excorcism” or “grace withdrawal” maybe? Though that would be super creepy. I find the whole thing with the baby super creepy tbh, because I personally absolutely ca’t picture the show to actually kill a new born baby or anything like that and both of the things mentioned before could be seen as “torture” for an unborn child, so I don’t know... It’s problemtic. But Maybe it’ll be a spell that would mute the child’s powers or something.

I still think that Cas in the end - even if atm he may play for Heaven and would try and kill the child - will side against Heaven and maybe as I speculated before ward the child and mother in some way to hide them from all angels and demons or so, which ofc ourse would cause the ultimate break with his heavenly “so called” family.

And yeah, Dean and the Colt... I still refuse to believe that Dean knows the full story about eh Colt, because Dean would have had a different reaction to seeing it. I think Sam only told Dean that the BritMoL were able to get their hands on the Colt, but has left out the details about how and how Mary basically had chosen that gun over her sons.

And like I said yesterday speculatively, I think Mary may be the one who will steal the Colt, because of the deal she may have made with the BritMoL in which they may help her travel back in time so that she could use the Colt on Azazel and with that undoing the tragedy she started with making a deal. Or Ketch and her stole it to shoot Kelly and the baby in her belly, but yeah, I can’t picture that happen in an american tv show. And well, if she went through with that (which of course she won’t because Sam and Dean will stop her from doing that), that would chance “the future”. I do rather think the future referred to with the title is the baby, which is the future “evil” or something.

I guess I’m way late to the party with this spoilery bit, but thank you for sending it. xx

To be honest I dread this episode given the writers and while episode descriptions almost always sound extremely boring and straight forward this here just seems even more.. I don’t know dis-exciting than usual. But I am overly critical at the moment, so I am definitely biased. But if Sam and Dean won’t catch on to who may be behind the killing immediately it would be just OOC imo - at least Dean, I think, will have an idea early on, but Sam may not believe that possibility with the BritMoL being to blame.

In general what to me feels like it may seem to have to come to a head at some point is how Ketch factors in on all of this, because I kind of have the impression the whole seraching the bunker and placing a microphone etc. thing wasn’t any kind of mission he was sent on by the BritMoL but was solely his own plan, because it simply disconnects completely with what we have heard fro Mrs Hess tell him last. So question is how and when and if that may play a role in the narrative and the confrontation further down the line.

Overall I find it to be dishearteningly boring how the show has handled the BritMoL this far and even more so if they truly now just stick with them wanting to kill all hunters, it’s just blah to me, because I personally can’t shake the feeling that they simply in the end didn’t know what to actually do with the organisation. It seems to simple to me basically, but I guess we’ll.

As for the basic plot of the episode itself, to me it feels very reminiscent of 5x13 “The Song Remains the Same” when Anna returns brainwashed by Heaven and deadset on killing Sam and/or the whole Winchester family. It surely would further tie in with the paralleling that’s been done with the BritMoL and Heaven.

Furthermore I think the big topic that will be tackled here may be the aspect of “being a mom” as Toni was very decidely introduced in a similar manner as Mary was when she tucked her son in at night which was very similar to how we saw Mary carry Dean in her arms to wish Baby!Sam a good night in the pilot. And well, the topic of mothers or absent mothers etc. was kind of a leading theme this season, so I fully expect this to come around when these two “face off”.

I think that Mick may tag along on hunts for two possible reasons. The first one would be to study the Winchesters, their style, their techniques, etc. to possibly actually honestly “learn” from them in a way, but not in fashion that would point him to become more active himself, but rather in a way they could use for their own gain and their own strategies going forward. Because they may have big fancy guns and toys, but they do lack “feet on the ground and the field” so to say. 12x14 “The Raid” showed that clearly. None of the Brits in that episode have ever been in a fight (including Mick), but have pulled the strings from afar and rather sending hunters out there to do their dirty work. And since the old men in particular seem to have been really adamant of getting Sam and Dean on board I assume that there must be a very specific reason for the Winchesters as such that preceeds the fact they are also legacies of the american Men of Letter.

The second reason why he may tag along may be for him to get intel and be able to tell the old men or whoever else is working with him about their whereabouts. Meaning, that some of his colleagues could use the time when the Winchesters are out of the bunker to install something there or search for something specific in there, because I think Sam and Dean may own something the BritMoL want (back), but they don’t know where it’s hidden, but they won’t ask for it flat out, because it is such a powerful and important object/weapon that the Winchesters would never give it up and let them have it. I actually could also imagine that Mary’s quest for Colt was only half the story or rather just one half of what the BritMoL wanted - I think it’s very possible they also wanted to get their hands on Michael’s lance. Given that Dean took it with them, it’s likely it is in the bunker, so maybe they may look for that too. At least it would make the return of Michael’s lance, which Dean didn’t even get to use, more meaning. Especially when it turns out that in the end that lance will show much bigger and potent power when Dean is using it as Michael’s true vessel and all that jazz.

I very much think that Dean will find out about Sam and Mary have been lieing to him much more than they have let on - the Colt for example - and like I said before, I think learning about the other secrets and lies will push Dean further away from them and hopefully searching his own path. That may render him a “rogue” and make the BritMoL whatever they did to the other hunter from 12x14 “The Raid”. In any case it seems to me that Dean will be the one paying a painful price for his loved ones misplaced trust and ignorance. And only that action, the BritMoL possibly torturing and brainwashing Dean or whatever may make them cut ties with the BritMoL. Though I assume it won’t be that easy. I think they’ll rather try and convince Sam and Mary this is nescessary and yeah... I think there is potential for a whole lot of nasty stuff happening to Dean that his family may not be entirely educated about and therefore may not immediately come to the rescue. Like I said before, I could imagine the BirtMoL lieing about Dean having left when learning about the secrets. Meaning Dean never left, but they possibly locked him up or whatever. And yes, in this analogy Dean is most definitely the lone wolf straying from the pack, especially since the dog metaphors surrounding Dean and the way he’s been referred to as an attack dog do kind of sound like “rogue” and “untamable” quite a bit.

Did you hear about the name of the title for Eps 22 I guess give away was script sitting on someone's desk the title is "there is something about Mary' and someone saw part of the script and I guess we are finally going to talk about the night that yellow eyes goes to sam's room. its a scene between Dean and Mary.

No, I haven’t seen any title or spoiler or spec on anything tbh, because I have so little time to be online lately. But that sounds like a long overdue talk. Because the problematic thing always was that Mary must have known when she made a deal with Azazel that that deal was not really about her, but someone else. And that’s just... yeah. Problematic. Of course one can understand her desperation and grief that drove her decision. But still she knew the demon would come for something/someone years later, but nor for her who made the deal. But yeah, it could be really interesting to roll that entire night back up, what happened that evening and how Mary experienced it, etc.. and what other stuff may have played a part. It could be a way of filling in the gaps left. I just hope it will be done well, if they aim to do that, but given I heard that Dabb and Singer co-wrote the last two episodes, I am not feeling too hopeful, but I am more than happy to be surprised and proven wrong.

Also: I guess that could actually fit nicely to my crazy theory of the other day with Mary wanting the Colt to travel back in time to use it on Azazel when he comes for Sam in 1983 and that sparking the confrontation between Dean and Mary in the first place.

Not sure but I think I see the colt making another appearance in British Invasion looks like Mick brings it so I wonder will Dean see it or not. Since he seems to be with Lucifer's baby mama trying to get her away from the bad guys. I tried to post a link for the pic but couldn't put it in.

No problem, I saw the pics. :) I think they definitely kept it purposefully vague with the shot they chose there as it does only show Sam in the frame with Mick and that other BritMoL guy. I guess the reason he brought it with him is due to Daegon. It would be great if Dean was clued in within this episode about the Colt and such, but I am not holding my breath that he will get the full story. I rather could imagine that they go with the story of “the BritMoL managed to get the Colt back”, but leaving Mary and how she almost had traded that gun for her sons lives out of the equation, because that would certainly serve as a perfect reason for Dean to walk out on the whole thing. I definitely hope that they will not just play it like “oh yes Dean knows already and he’s fine with it”, because that simply would be wildly out of character.

When I look at the promo pics I have to say that the crazy spec regarding the season finale may not be too crazy after all (can’t link to the post here, because I’m typing from my phone on my way to work), because I personally do think that Dean and Sam will take Kelly with them. I do really hope that Daegon will not die in this episode though, because tbh they could then have just left that entire bit of “Princes of Hell” out completely. But like I said before, I think the BritMoL may in the end be interested in that child to train it and use it for their own purposes, so that when the Winchesters take Kelly in they may act as if they are “alright” with it only to wait for the right moment to strike.

I think the show will - if the baby is born and Kelly Kline won’t die while pregnant - move the direction that the child is innocent and can’t be punished for Lucifer being his dad, that no child is born evil, etc. but a blank slate. So that’s I think something the Winchesters will stand up for and focus on (also due to Sam kind of working as the loose parallel to the kid as he also was forced to a connection with Lucifer). That opinion sooner or later will clash with the BritMoL because it opposes them in not seeing the child as a “lab rat” (that’s btw also the reason Magda was brought up again, she was innocent too).

So given all that and given that slow motion clip Jensen posted yesterday, I think there’s possibility that either Daegon will find Kelly and the boys in the bunker (which I would find really interesting as a parallel to Abaddon) and may try and get her back or it’s the BritMoL trying to take Kelly with them or both. And it would be pretty awesome then if Daegon sided with the Winchesters (especially if she truly had no sinister things in mind for the child) because it would drive the supposed “tainted and compromised” Winchesters against the BritMoL home by highlighting once more who the true monsters are.

From there on out I think it still could play out as I said in the post a couple of days ago. Mary (and Daegon) may disappear with Kelly and the child to protect them (and conveniently have them out of the picture - tbh Mary not being with them last episode and this week’s makes no sense yet again). That would bring the Angels in again, who also still want to kill it. That’s where Cas’ arc could come in with him one last time siding with humanity over Heaven, maybe marking the child’s and Kelly’s ribs to make them invisible. Basically it would serve for Cas to finally choosing his family on earth being his true family - that decision is long overdue, but I suppose unless the writers figure out what to do with Cas we’ll get another round of that next season all the way until the last episode ever where he chooses to become human for real and by his own decision.
