Review: Lime Crimes Liquid Lipstick Velvetines. Shade: Suedeberry. This review has been written after the whole product has been used.
I had liked Lime Crimes previous lipstick shades. Those lipsticks weren’t the most permanent in use, but the shade selection was awesome. That line is called Unicorn Lipstick, sadly no longer wide range of colours there. I ordered few lipsticks from Lime Crime. There was a sale and no postal costage, so I dared to try something new. Before making the purchase I went through few reviews of the lipstick. There were a lot of good reviews and some bad. I ended up bying the Suedeberry and Squash. The postal package looked standard on the outside. But the inside had a pretty print and pretty packaging. The box is worth reusing in some crafts project. The first time I put the lipstick on the texture felt funny. But that is just about getting used to it. It took only less than 30 seconds to dry. But you might smear your teeth with it. Luckily it comes easily of - from your teeth, no your face. If you apply it over the egde of your lip, it’s really hard to get it off. It just smears. The best way to get rid of overrun lipstick is taking it with a cotton swab.
You also have to apply the lipstick partially inside your lips, so it won’t look stupid. That part also wears off in a hour or two. Obviously because of the saliva in your mouth.
When dried the lipstick does not stain. You can safely kiss without leaving a big red mark. But if you eat or drink the lipstick starts to wear off. The wearing off happens even if you don’t eat or drink. It just takes an hour or two more. The feeling of not having lipstick at all is nice. You do feel something, but really lightly. The colour has a lot of pigment and it covers. The matte look is beautiful. After using the whe whole product I can say the texture is just right. I have been complimented about my lips by adults and kids. So I would say, that when it hasn’t wearn off, it looks really cool. The cost of the product is 16,30€ at the moment. If the postage cost is free, I can see myself buying it again, especially if it’s on sale on top of that. Other shades I have tried and loved are: Lana, Happi, Lulu, Faded and Rave. Lulu and Rave are no longer on sale, which is really sad since those were one of my definite favourites. The metallic shades - Lana and Happi - are also awesome. They are festive, but with a normal day make up they fit in everyday use. I feel that these newer products last longer on the lips. Maybe the product code has been changed for the better since I bought the first one.
So a definite recommendation. If you’re into multiple different shades and liquid lipstick, then this just might be your thing.
