I'm just about to go to grad-school for animation & I think a lot of animators share the same sentiment!

do you have specific plots in mind because I'm actually pretty interested :)

the only two i have in the forefront mind are what if narratives, like what if we lived impulsively or what if you had superpowers but they all revolve around narcissistic values and managing undiagnosed mental illnesses.

like, my favorite one that I'm currently working on deals with reincarnation and inheriting ancient pain that the host has absolutely nothing to do with them and being forced to break that generational curse before it kills them.

Try thinking The Boondocks meets Steven Universe. Cuz a lot of the stuff i write is super depressing, but I've always wanted to watch an adult show that has no sex but still had the same deep and complexing narrative. Like Euphoria, or Game of Thrones. I want more shows like Living Single or Our Flag Means Death. I want more romance without the writhing bodies. I ant more life without the comedy. i want what i watch in modern day cartoons without the label of it actually being for kids. And now that i've chatted you up, I feel like regardless of where we end up, that dream will be reached. :D

i’ve seen the video already but like idek what to say about that because you see it in kpop all the time. like to me it feels different with lyrics because it’s not paying homage or the fans recognising like ‘oh that’s a reference from that song.’ it’s just portrayed to be their own. especially with so many writers on one song and they come out with that? same w bts dynamite lol ‘light it up like dynamite’ being exactly the same as taio cruz dynamite. and it’s not even something that’s worth complaining about or saying it’s a problem. it just feels like erasure though of course there are still massive communities that love the original songs.
