I actually had a talk with my friend who is a big fan of the series now, and she did some interesting research. ✿

As usual MAD HOUSE does an incredible job of putting as much effort and detail into the series’ environment to help immerse the viewer into Shiori Amase’s world.

And in the case of Sugadaira which is a real location in Japan, they not only captured actual iconic places like the mini crepe cafe and outdoor tacklebag, but the actual geographic point in which you can find them based on where the characters walk towards.

So big props to the animators and Amase for doing every little thing to a T.

I usually don’t look it up but the idea of Sugadaira stuck with me. It is indeed a magnificent place and I know understand why the boys were so lucky to visit such a place. It really warms my heart that Amase-sensei is so concerned about rugby, <3

Sugadaira has a very long and special history with the sport of rugby and is well-known for hosting rugby training camps.

Rugby training camps were held in Sugadaira as far back as 1931 by Hosei University and by Waseda University in 1932, and that tradition continues right through until the present day.
