"Oh, Mukuro... good to see you're not dead. I suppose?" Junko comments, with a false smile. "How have you been?"
((Sorry to bother ya, I saw your thread with Sayaka, and wanted to say hi, with my returning muse of junko :3, and a little prep, she spent the last 7 years in an institution for the criminally insane))

Mukuro had seen war. Battlefields strewn with the dead and dying. A world torn apart by despair. At times she'd reveled in it. At times she'd shrunk away and fear. Even after she 'reformed' thanks to Makoto and the others, her supposed allies at Future Foundation never looked her in the eye. She'd grown used to it. Since she was a child, she'd known that people had an inherent aversion to her. After all, she was a born soldier. Someone with the inherent talent to kill other people.
All the horrors she'd witnessed and taken part in, somehow they all paled in comparison to the sight of her little sister. Seeing her again was supposed to be the culmination of everything she'd tried to undo about herself in the past seven years. Still actually being here, seeing her face and hearing her voice, all that hard work felt distant. She was a little girl again. She couldn't help but sit in silence, trying to hold back from trembling.
She wanted to apologize to her. To prostrate herself and beg for forgiveness. To fall back into old habits and ask her for orders. She was an utter failure as a big sister, after all. If she'd just been by Junko's side a little more. If she'd protected her, maybe she would have never become Ultimate Despair. That was her guiding light for so, so many years. She had to make up for that. To earn her sister's love. To protect her, and support her. Instead she never lived up to her expectations. Then she'd left her in that institution and never even tried to visit her. Because she was afraid of her. Her own sister. No. She was afraid of who she was when she was with her.
Stop.
Breathe.
She did what she always did when the going got tough. She fell back onto her training. Not her combat training, but the work she'd done with Future Foundation. She wouldn't spiral. She wouldn't fall back into her old self. If she couldn't do this, how could she face Makoto and the others?
Supposedly, Junko was 'better' now. She wanted to believe that. Despite everything, she still loved her sister. Pragmatically, there was a good chance she'd just tricked the people who were supposed to evaluate her.
"Neither of us die easy. You know that."
Of course Junko was surprised. She was the one who'd tried to kill her after all. She couldn't bring herself to look her in the eye.
"The world is moving past us. I'm not as instantly recognizable as you, so a lot of people don't know my part of it. I guess I could be worse."
Her gaze darted forward, down the proverbial barrel of the gun.
"They say you're not Ultimate Despair anymore. That true? Honestly?"
