12 Days of EXO - Suho

________________
This year marked your first Christmas away from home, as you had moved cities in order to go to university. You had a heavy heart, but were instantly cheered up by your reliable and supportive friend Suho, who promised to give you the best Christmas ever to make up for your homesickness.
You trudged through Seoul's snow to reach Suho's place, and burst out laughing when he opened the door. The lovably daggy Suho was of course wearing an appalling Christmas sweater, complete with awful squiggles of acorns and trees. Suho failed to see what you found so funny about his fashion sense, so you let it go and excitedly stepped into his house, keen to spend your first Christmas with your friend. Truth be told, you had another reason for being so excited... for the past few months, you had been crushing on Suho pretty intensely. His soft smile, selfless nature and of course, dorkiness, had won over your heart instantly, and helped you settle into this new city. In your head, you kept wishing for a Christmas miracle, internally cringing at your cheesiness. Clearly, you had caught it from Suho.
While you decorated the tree together, you snacked on surprisingly yummy gingerbread cookies that Suho claimed to have baked. You couldn't help but think that Kyungsoo may have had a hand in baking them, but you kept your suspicions to yourself.
Decorating your tree was a bit of a struggle, since both of you were severely vertically challenged. Despite Suho's protests, you went and got yourself a stool to climb up to put the finishing touches on the tree. You climbed the small distance, reaching up with the star in hand, as Suho fussed and fretted beneath you. You insisted that you wouldn't fall, and couldn't help but laugh at his motherly nagging and worrying. But being the clumsy girl that you are, you lost concentration whilst laughing, and also managed to lose your balance at the same time. You let out a small squeal as you tumbled the small distance down to the ground. Rather than feeling your butt hit the floor like you expected, you felt yourself falling into warm, comforting, Christmas-sweater-wearing arms. You peeked up at Suho, feeling like a total dork for falling over during such a simple task. Great... he'll never like me now, you sighed internally. To your surprise, Suho was smiling down at you sweetly, almost like it was endearing to see you goof up around him. You felt a blush creeping up to your face, but were somewhat put at ease (and confused) by seeing the same red blush spread across his cheeks. Suddenly, Suho realised how long you'd been in that intimate position, and cleared his throat and quickly supported you back onto your feet. You began to step away from him, before Suho lightly grasped your wrist. "Just... can you hold on a second? I've-I've got something I want to show you," he smiled nervously. You nodded blankly, confused about where he was going with this. Suho disappeared to the kitchen for a second, and returned quickly with his hands clasped behind his back, hiding something. Taking a deep breath, he began what he is best at: speeches. "This may not be the greatest way to tell you this, but I thought of something and I... I guess I just wanted to try it to see... what would happen... if you feel the same way I guess..." He mumbled, struggling to maintain eye contact. Slowly, he brought out a hand and revealed the small bundle of mistletoe he had hidden. Finally mustering up enough courage to look you in the eye, Suho sincerely began speaking again. "Ever since I've had the pleasure of knowing you, I feel like I've received a gift in life. You could say, you were an early Christmas present to me. I feel so lucky to -" You cut off his ridiculously cheesy speech by boldly kissing him, taking the mistletoe as enough of an invitation. When you pulled away, you giggled again at his startled expression. "I get what you're trying to say," you grinned at him, happily linking your arms around his shoulders and leaning into his embrace. Suho finally snapped out of his stupor, and laughed with you at his own cheesiness and your boldness
The rest of your night consisted of watching lame Christmas movies on TV and pigging out on treats. Once again, you thought of how you'd picked up Suho's cheesiness, as you realised that he was the best present you could've received this year.
