sulwhasoo vs la mer: which one actually deserves the hype

full disclosure, i have oily/acne prone skin so rich creams and i have a complicated history. that said i wanted to actually break down what these two are doing differently bc they get compared constantly and treated like the same thing when they're really not.

sulwhasoo is the ginseng one slower, more of a "give it 4-6 weeks" situation, better if your skin leans dry to normal. la mer is the miracle broth one faster payoff, more of an instant plump/glow, still rich but a lot of people say it sinks in quicker than you'd expect for something this thick.

if you're oily or acne prone like me, honestly? neither is an everyday-morning cream. i'd treat either as a PM-only step, and even then, patch test first bc "luxury" doesn't mean "won't break you out."
