Who wakes up first?Sumner gets up first because this loser runs on no sleep and honestly Adele is concerned for this boy. She forces him to actually get a few hours, and shockingly his heath begins to improve.

Who is grumpiest in the morning?Adele. Sumner is a relentless ball of energy and she is going to kill him if she doesn’t have her coffee or tea in the morning first.

Who cooks breakfast?Adele. Sumner tries to be sweet and make pancakes sometimes but they always burn and Adele just.... goes through so many pots and pans whenever he tries to cook anything. Meanwhile she makes a full english breakfast every morning and Sumner thinks she is actually an angel or something else otherworldly and beautiful.

Who serves the other breakfast in bed?As I said, Sumner tries to. It fails miserably.

Who suggests the skip work and stay home?Oh my god, this has to be Adele. “One day off won’t kill you, Charlie. In fact, it might do the opposite.” “Abolition never rests, Adele.” “It will still be there when you get back tomorrow.”

Who falls asleep on top of the other?Adele falls asleep on him because he is a giant of a man and makes the perfect mattress/pillow combination.

Who always has to be touching the other?Sumner is starved for affection like he will just hold her hand all goddamn day and absentmindedly pet her arm or play with her hair and just be close to her and whenever she reciprocates he melts in her arms.

Who stays up until 2 reading?SUMNER.

Who kisses their partner while they’re sleeping?Adele gives him the cutest little kisses all the time and even though Sumner isn’t like super into it, he still likes them, and when he’s asleep she just cant help but cuddle close and kiss his cheek and its just.... precious.

Who is most adventurous?Adele has him doing crazy things he never would have dreamed of before. She definitely brings him out of his shell.

Who is most protective?S U M N E R LIKE HOLY FUCK NO ONE WILL EVER DO ANYTHING TO HARM THIS WOMAN.

Who cares too much?Honestly, the relationship is in many ways a convenience match but they both fall in their own ways and they fall hard and I think it’s less one of them caring too much but both of them thinking the other doesn’t care enough because that’s how it’s supposed to be. (They get over it eventually.)

Who is most competitive?God, they both are. Imagine them playing Mario Kart. Or hell, historically speaking even chess or something. It’d be a bloodbath.

Who sings in the shower?Charles does. Badly.

Who is more likely to get naughty in inappropriate places?ADELE OH MY GOD.

YES!!!!!

Chooses the pumpkin:  Probably Adele.  or they’d sit on the fence and let the kids frolic in the pumpkin patch until they chose a proper banger of a gourd and they make Charles carry it back home.

Carves the pumpkin:  Adele.  Charles is slightly concerned by the glee she expresses as she scalps and de-brains their poor pumpkin.

Gets scared and clings the other in a haunted house:  Charles doesn’t think that he’s going to be scared.  He’s definitely seen worse than people dressed up in silly costumes, for goodness’ sake.  But - first jump scare - bam! and he nearly bowls over Adele on the way out of the house, and staunchly refuses to go back in afterwards.  She thinks it’s hilarious (and is secretly thankful that he chose flight, and not fight, as a response.)

Matching costume idea: Adele’s pushing real, real hard for Han and Leia (or Han and Chewbacca if the logistics of getting Charles into a furry suit weren’t so challenging.)

Makes a cozy bed-fort to cuddle in:  They both try their best (it’s a very very cold October) but unfortunately neither of them are very architecturally minded and it collapses on them after, like, five minutes, taking down a lamp and several large, endwise-stacked cushions with it.  Charles is very put out by it all and Adele buries him in blankets to make up for it.

Steal’s the other’s candy:  Charles absolutely tries to steal Adele’s candy. She thinks that she’s so clever, hiding it in the little space between the little moveable coat rack and the wall in the drawing room. She thinks she’s so smart.  She doesn’t notice that her collection is being depleted incrementally until it’s all gone.

Accidentally gets lost in a corn maze:  Adele, lol.  If she needs to find Charles she just pops her head over and sees if she can find him over the hedge.

Tells spooky stories to scare the other: They have a contest to see who can make up the worst (as in, lamest) ghost story in their blanket fort.  When Charles starts taking it seriously and telling actually-scary stories Adele starts throwing pillows at him and one-ups him with the gorier stories of Catholic saints.

Collects cool-looking leaves: Aw, both of them!  Adele likes to press them in her scrapbooks and after a while Charles starts looking out for them as well so he can bring the best ones back to her.

adele insists on getting some sort of wedding daguerreotype made despite sumner’s aversion to the idea (he wants to get out of town and on to the wedding trip asap [the sooner they leave the sooner he can come back and do work]) but he goes along with it and the daguerreotypist is trying his best to get sumner to look affectionate and amused but poor sumner is so uncomfortable, so their wedding picture is adele leaning over him grinning and he’s just... >:^I

imagine, a few months after sumner gets back into washington adele throws a little dinner party/assembly that he attends, but halfway through the night the light and noise start to give him a migraine and he starts making noises about feeling ill and going home, but adele insists that he go and rest in the guest bedroom with a cool washcloth over his eyes, and sits with him for a while stroking his hair and he ends up falling asleep

and he wakes up and he’s so, so confused.  and he wanders downstairs in his evening wear and adele is sitting in front of the fireplace in a wrapper, offering him coffee
