I looked at the calendar & realized summer is close to being over. A shame. Let's have Moumou visit the beach before its over.

Not only is summer my favorite season of the year, but I’m also inclined to gravitate towards music that’s doused in sunshine. And that’s exactly what Scarlet Drive gave us on their recent single, I Just Think That You’re Cute. The Perth, Australia indie rock and alt rock outfit usually fuses punk, funk, and reggae into their music. You can still hear a touch of that in this endearing, effortless summer bop. Like a warm, familiar breeze, I Just Think That You’re Cute wins our hearts over with its tongue-in-cheek lyrics and upbeat indie pop glow. Like Cayucas wedded to Circa Waves with some classic emo from the likes of Lido, Scarlet Drive brings us a laid back summer anthem that we can’t help but love. I Just Think That You’re Cute is the first taste from a body of nostalgic work the band created earlier this year. Its lyrics are cleverly filled with literary references to iconic romance novels, and the song pokes fun at relationships with very little beneath the surface of attraction. In other words, it’s the perfect soundtrack for that summer fling. You can grab the cheeky tune from Apple Music, here.
