#ThrowbackThursday: On this day seven years ago, I had jaw surgery. This was no simple jaw surgery, though. This was what they call a three-piece mandible, meaning that they break your upper-jaw and lower-jaw, and then try to push them either together or as close as possible. This was done to fix an open-bite that I had since I was born. The surgery itself took 9.5 hours to do, so needless to say, I took a beating with this surgery. After it was over, I was wired shut for seven weeks so that my jaw could recover, meaning that I was forced on a liquid diet. I ended losing 25 pounds from that.
