Not the prettiest picture I know, but this was the final book I finished yesterday for my TBR for the Biannual Bibliothon and it was for the challenges of read a banned book and read a book and watch the movie adaptation. I wanted to get both in the pic but that was as good as I could get it. I might give this book a 3.5 stars. I liked it. It wasn't the best book I ever read but it was enjoyable for the most part. The dialogue was pretty repetitive which I wasn't a giant fan of. Yeah, I mean I really don't know what else to say. It's was an alright book. The characters made me laugh. The movie was a pretty good adaptation I think. There was some stuff that was different but the dialogue was pretty much verbatim. I think I enjoyed the movie a little more than the book at times. 😳 But yeah, with 30 minutes of the week left I finished the five books of my TBR! Pretty proud of myself 😁 #bookstagram #summerbibib2017 #classics #booktomovie

3/5 books read for the Biannual Bibliothon! I read this for the LGBT+ challenge. This is one of the most beautiful books I've ever read. I love it so much. It is easily one of my favorite books of all time. I loved the way it was written, as though I was talking with Ari and he was telling me this story. I loved the way the narrator (Lin Manuel Miranda) read the book (I listened to the audiobook). I love Ari. I understand him so much. I know most people love Dante, and I loved him too, but I related more with Ari. I will say I'm not Mexican so I didn't relate to that part, but his feelings and thoughts. I get him. Finally I saw this main character who got so angry it ate him up. Who hated people like Dante because of how good they were and how inadequate he felt next to them how much they cared about him, which sounds ridiculous, but I get it. And he knows that he doesn't really hate Dante which makes him feel even more angry. And I know that sounds weird and stupid but I get that. He likes to be alone, he likes just a couple good friends, he hates "icebreaker bullshit", he wasn't born knowing he was gay, it just happened one day late in his teen years. And I loved this book so much because I feel all those things too. #bookstagram #summerbibib2017 #yacontemporary #lgbtbooks

2/5 Books completed for the Biannual Bibliothon. This was for the "not on booktube" challenge, as I didn't start hearing about this series on booktube until after I started reading it. I feel like I might give this a 4.5 stars. It was pretty awesome. I liked the first book in the series but I loved this prequel. I want to re-read the first now because I kinda forgot some of it and honestly, I might lower my rating now that I've seen the author can write this. Just like the first book there was incredible world building in such a short amount of pages. Unlike the first there felt like a full story. I enjoyed it much more because it didn't feel as rushed. Still wish it was longer because there could have been more expanded on (hence the star or half a star taken off). And the commentary on gender stereotypes and parents forcing their kids to do things they don't want. Wow. That was also amazing. Hopefully the next book in the series will be even better. #bookstagram #summerbibib2017 #portalfantasy #waywardchildrenseries
