A Midsummer Rest

(This lovely drawing is by @ellelehman Now, she had told me to remind you all to repost and ask permission before using her art for anything. This fic is dedicated to the queen of Flown North, and I hope she and you enjoy!)

It was the middle of Summer in Vale, a time for the students of remnants to take a breather and enjoy themselves til next semester. Many of the teams had left to see family, make the most of their limited time, or just do absolutely nothing. One such team was team STRQ.

Raven had planned to return to her tribe, but decided to instead hang around Tai a little longer. For some reason, she couldn't think about leaving him for a week let alone the entire Summer!

Tai planned to make the most of his Summer break, and took Raven to do what could be summed up as a "list of fun". To her dismay, she couldn't bring herself to tell her enthusiastic boyfriend no. Thus, they left. This left the only two other teammates to do as they please.

Qrow had expected Summer to want to do something similar, but instead the two hung around and did pretty much nothing. Currently, the two were in there dorm. Qrow laying on his bed and Summer using his chest as support so she could read a book.

"Hey shortstack?" Qrow asks.

"Yes Qrow? What's up?" Summer placed a bookmark in her book.

"I was wondering if you we were going to do anything this break. You usually are off the walls as much as Tai when it comes to wanting to "carpe diem" as he puts it."

"Weeellll I wasn't really going to do anything this time. You worked really hard this year, and I figured you'd want to spend the break "vegging out" as you usually put it."

"Huh. Is that so?" Qrow realized what he's going to do. "How about we have a picnic tomorrow?"

Summer perked up, and looked at him with surprise. "A picnic? Really?"

"Yeah, could be fun."

"Okay! Sure! Let's do that!" Summer was overjoyed. Seeing Summer that happy had Qrow slightly grinning. How he got this girl is beyond him. Maybe there is fortune to be had for the unfortunate...

Tomorrow arrives. Qrow and Summer began walking in the afternoon, and got there a little later. The lovebirds settled down on a nice spot where the trees were just dense enough to block most of the sunlight.

The basket was filled with various sandwiches, chips, water, and cookies (Summer likes cookies). The two chowed down, talking about what they plan to do after break, funny stories that they usually kept to themselves, and what the other two team members were up to.

"I can't believe Tai managed to get Raven to stand next to the fluffy mascot! It's so cute!" Summer showed Qrow the picture.

The picture was of a very enjoyed Tai hugging a beowolf mascot with a extremely livid Raven. She looked like she was ready to kill everyone there.

Qrow lost his shit. Almost choking on the sandwich he was eating. He bellowed in laughter to the picture in pure joy.

"You HAVE to give me the picture shortstack! I think I found my new wallpaper for the year!"

Summer shook her head, "What kind of a team leader would I be if I did that?"

"The best one."

"No Qrow." She crossed her arms.

Qrow huffs, accepting defeat. He still however, will not let her live this down.

After finishing the food, the two walked around the forest for a bit. The two came across a beautiful looking tree. In fact, this tree was the same tree where the two professed eachothers feelings for one another. It even still bore the marking Qrow etched into it.

The two rested at the tree, sitting down and nuzzling up to each other. Summer laid her head on Qrow's shoulder, and the two began reminiscing about that day. Soon enough however, the two dozed off into a slumber from the calming sounds of the forest.

i have never come across another doll like Summerbird's viola. I am heavily considering preordering one, but i don't know about posing...

Viola Frequently Asked Questions

I've been getting a few of the same questions asked by a lot of people, so I thought I'd make a post about it! ^^

Q: Will there be another Viola preorder?

A: Yes, I am planning on it, but the date isn't set in stone. I'm hoping around January or February 2018, but it will be sometime after all the dolls from the current order have been sent out, so it will depend on that timing. Also, I'm hoping the next preorder will have an additional faceplate on offer ;)

Q: Can you contact me/put me on a waiting list for the next preorder?

A: If you'd like to be contacted when there's a new preorder, please sign up for the email mailing list on the website, or scroll down to my post about it here on Tumblr ^^

Q: Will you be selling any dolls from cancelled orders from the first preorder?

A: Right now, it doesn't look like there will be any cancelled orders. However, if it does happen, I'm planning on selling the cancelled order dolls in a lottery, so that everyone who's interested will have a fair chance. The lottery entry period will probably be a week or so. IF it happens, I will make multiple announcements on the website, on the email mailing list, and on my social media, so don't worry about missing it IF it happens.

Q: Can I add a faceup/head/other option to my current order?

A: While I can't change the resin color or bust parts for the current order, I did order every doll with a head and heel feet so that I'd have a few extra to sell on the site. If you'd like to add missing head or high heel feet to your order, just send me an email with your order number and I will send you an invoice for the add-on. Prices are +$70 for head (+$80 for tans) and +$20 ($25 for tans) for heel feet. You can also add a faceup or blushing if you'd like. For convenience, that will be treated as a normal commission, and only require payment once you are satisfied with the final product. Please send me an email with your order number, and I will make a note on your order.
