okay okay but for real. this is HARD. i love SO MANY so dearly but here are the top 5 closest to my heart (other than sanji) [in no particular order]
OKIKU!!! she is my princess, though she is trans the other way around from me, i feel so related to her and she makes me believe i can be proud and valuable and loved and strong!!! i think she is such an amazing rolemodel and i think oda's development in making queer characters shows SO well in her + i am no better than zoro. she sure IS a sizeable woman
bon clay bentham mr. 2 of the wild one of THE queer characters of all time. i think spending a single day with them would heal so much in me. actual beacon of hope, i miss them so much oda BRING THEM BACK, had me bawling my eyes out several times during my first read of one piece. literally changed my life. the goat of all time, unrivaled.
marco. yes i simp for him and i want him so bad but what drew me to him initially is the theme of grief and survivors guilt and keeping on going anyway. which again is super relatable to me. if he went through all that and is still kicking and keeping positive, i can too! he is genuinely just a nice, funny and like-able guy yoou'd grab a beer with yknow? and yeah ngl him having such a powerful and cool devilfruit but being so casual about it and not letting that get to his head gives him an undeniable cool guy charm i totally fell for
sentomaru!!! CRITICALLY underrated (and under thirsted for) character imo!!! he is SO pretty, his design is peak and he is the first marine character that really stayed in my mind for being unsure about his position and morals AND now withj extra spicy backstory (i always liked his relationship with borsalino and everything since egghead just made it all even better)
