slash related slash unrelated but im annoyed how the actual game-critical final boss is DLC in both DA2 and DAI, like you wouldnt know jack shit about anything happening in DAI even if youd played DA2 unless you did the story critical DLC about Hawke's dad , and then there's Tresspasser, which I don't own so im like *SHRUGGING*
Exactly. I dont like it either. Another reason I hate Trespasser. :/c
Paying to see the conclusion of the game -- not an epilogue or afterstory but the actual completion of the main plot -- is bad. DLC are add-ons; they should be totally complimentary. Not essential to canon.
Getting to a final boss only to have the last door guarded by a paywall with a toll fee of real money sounds ridiculous. No on would agree to that. I think developers realized this. Better to disguise it as extra content to players left hungry for more due to the incomplete storylines they were fed. Of course theyre gonna bite.
I think at the very least $60 should buy a complete story. Not a good one, not a revolutionary one, but a whole one. Not a beginning, a middle, half the end, and ten thousand loose threads only More Brand Name Products can solve. It makes the game feel less like a stand-alone product and more of an advertisement for the merchandise and novels and premium downloads and spin-off series and animated movies that come after.
Like I get thats what makes a franchise what it is, and thats show-business babyyyy, but from a purely consumer standpoint I really hate it.
